No matter what the outcome, we are all screwed. Whether Dems or Reduds win, we lose as a free society. Oh, well.

Guess thats a matter of opinion and what side of the fence your sitting on

If you are so disenchanted with both parties then why are you a democrat?

Perfection is a goal that our young nation may never fully attain. All one can do is be part of the process, research the issues and then vote their conscience and let democracy prevail. In that sense..we all win no matter what our party affiliation is. The alternative to our process is even worse!

Not really.
Our Founding fathers wanted a political system that was as fair and equitable as possible.
My opinion was that they were unable to look that far into the future and foresee the greed and duplicity that would emerge from their pronouncements.

You all know as well as I that the present system is not fair nor is it as democratic as it could be.

We the electorate do not directly elect our President, argue it whichever way you will, that statement is FACT.

We the electorate were given the right to vote for a candidate who would then represent our interests in either of the two houses, Senate or Representative.

The business community was NOT given a mandate to vote.
What we have now is that Big Companies or Big business or even BIG Money interests give money to those candidates they expect to win and be in a position to carry out reforms for the advantage of Big Business.
These donations some call them bribes are in part used to purchase advertisement on various media as well as allowing candidates to travel throughout their various districts campaigning for their cause.

As you can clearly see, it is no longer a matter of the electorate controlling the democratic principle, this has now been removed so that Money NOW controls democratic principles.
And it is certainly not in the interests of the electorate that they be governed by BIG Business or Big Money, because their interests are and will always be subordinate to Big Company and Big Money interests.

I am and have been all my voting life a, REPUBLICAN.

I do not ascribe to the idea that the State provides for me or mine.
To me that is not Democracy, that is socialism.
