I have to say I didn’t like it. I didn’t serve in Desert shield or Desert Storm.
(By the time we were set to deploy it was over)

This movie casts marines as undisciplined lunatics. And the best…the very best-- talk back to your SSgt in front of the entire platoon and nothing happens? Make your SSGT look like a total f**king idiot and the only price you pay is stacking sb’s? WTF?

I know sometimes people cut up/f**k up but not 24/7. This was like a bunch of Boy Scouts….
That is not the Marines I remember. I do however remember “Hurry up and wait” But then again we were always found something to do.

Maybe if anyone here who served in DS can shed better light on this.

Is the movie based on fiction?

Iknow that pogs(persons other than grunt=non-combat soldeirs) in general proably act that way,I observed them interacting with thier chain of command as though they were drinking buddies instead of soldeirs.
It would be a cold day in hell before any Army infantry soldeirs act the way you described.A infantry soldeir would get the **** smoked out of him for a few hours and most likely recieve a article 15 for disrespecting a NCO and or officer.

Saw the Greatest raid last night...not a bad movie..
