Do you think that Vance was a good/best choice for Trump? Has your opinion changed with Biden dropping out of the run?

Personally, I think Vance is a free gift to the Democratic party.

He thinks he's funny. He's not.
He thinks he a great public speaker. He's not.
He thinks he's good looking. ? Looks don't guarantee likability.
He thinks he's loyal. He's already stepping on trump's toes.
He thinks project 2025 is perfect for this country.

In one week he's already alienated women, blacks, browns, muslims, LGBTQ, anyone who isn't an evangelical, did I miss anyone?

Yeah, he's a gift. Keep talking JD.

The VP pick is a 2 day news cycle that fades into obscurity. I would have preferred Marco Rubio. I can see him being president some day.

Either he or Donald would have had to move out of Florida. Plus: I'm not sure Donald has ever forgiven him for the "small hands" jibe that the MSM is still running with.

I’m happy with it so I’m gonna go with no.

Depends on the calculus:

  • If the intention was to signal to everyone that Trumpism is now the dominant force in the GOP and they want to build on that, then sure. Vance presents the opportunity of building out Trumpism/MAGA out ideologically and politically.
  • If the intention was to broaden the Trump base, then not at all. The ticket would have been better served by someone like Burgum, Youngkin, or Rubio.

Has your opinion changed with Biden dropping out of the run?
Nope. I think the issues with his selection are the same had Biden stayed in the race.

If you are a never Trumper he was a fantastic pick.
His addition will not add a single addition hate voter. Trump already has them all.

You could not be more wrong. The biggest knock on Biden was his age.
Now that is off the table.

Yes, you did miss some people, conservatives like me.

Trump is definitely regretting the Peter Thiel pick.
Plus he is jealous of someone who looks better than him and can srticulat3his message of hate so much better

I was referring to the pick of Vance as a VP in the context of Biden dropping out. Vance being a good choice or not wasn't affected by Biden being in the race or not, in my opinion.

I am on record saying that I think picking Vance was a bad decision. He's a GOP Elite. He's of the same ilk as Pence.

However, I realize that Trump very well could have his own reasoning for doing so. In fact, I can think of one reason off the top of my head for Trump choosing Vance: Making him his VP takes GOP Elite Vance out of the Senate.

Less GOP Elites and more America First in the Senate is a good thing.

I am not privy to Trump's reasoning and I don't expect him to publicly announce the actual reason he chose Vance.

btw, I don't think the issue of Biden dropping out had any effect on Trump's decision.

Why do you think that? Has Trump said anything to that effect?

Or...is this just something you pulled out of your...imagination?

Yes that was a problem. I don't think Trump holds grudges (as much as folks think) he knows saying outrageous things is part of running. Him and Cruz had worse words but they are on good terms now, so is Halley.

As someone who continues to stubbornly believe the 2020 Election was stolen, you would know all about imagination.

So...you won't answer the question.

Why am I not surprised?

Bye.

"J D Vance live at Mar a Lago" video at the end of his link, totally failing to get a word in edgeways as Don Jr hyperventilates in a . . . curiously stimulated manner, let's say:

JD Vance’s idea of “protected sex.”

If you are a far right radical Republican and a fan of Project 2025 you probably like Vance.
Fortunately that is a small percentage of Americans.

If Trump gets elected the likelihood of Vance becoming president is very high
