Warsaw ghetto vs the Gaza ghetto

During WWII, the Germans set up a ghetto in Warsaw Poland to hold and contain the Jews of that area. They were slowly starving the people in this Jewish ghetto to death as children were found dead of starvation in the streets every day. Eventually the Jews realizing their situation revoted and the Germans came in and killed most of them and the rest were sent to the concentration camps. Now we look at the present-day Gaza ghetto, and it is a ghetto. For forty years the people of this ghetto were controlled by the Jeish state and many died from lack of health care and even from food and medicine. This last year they revolted against the Jewish control and since then the Jewish state is doing what the Germans did in Warsaw so long ago. Now we have the people of Gaza being starved to death and being removed from Northern Gaza and then bombed where they move to. So how much different is the situation in the Warsaw ghetto vs the Gaza ghetto except this time it is the Jewish state that is starving women and children to death.

And the people in Gaza elected Hamas to be their governmental leaders in 2007. Think that was wise. Hamas took all the money, all the aid, all the food and medicine that came from around the world and used it for Hamas, sold it for money, abused the people and used them for human sheilds, fired rockets from apartments, medical bldgs, schools, Mosques, and they do it knowing it's risky for the people. They failed to provide jobs, medical care, food, modern conviences, all the while stealing from the people in Gaza.
There is little sympathy for the actions that they voted into place themselves. Hard to be sympathetic to people who support the acts that Hamas has been performing for decades. Victims are not willing partners.

I pity anyone who compares what's happening in Gaza today to the Jewish holocaust in Europe 80 years ago. I pray such simple-minded people are few and far between.

2007. So that means anyone under 37 had no say in hamas being elected. That's alot of people.

Netanyahu also championed Hamas over the PLO.

But perhaps the Palestinian people could get a vote more than....I guess once. How many adults alive today in Palestine even voted for Hamas in the first place?

Israel elected a terrorist— Menachim Begin— PM. Does that mean the international community would have been justified in conquering Israel and beginning colonization of Israeli land?

American hatred of Muslims does not reflect the world’s opinion of Gaza, as America’s increasingly desperate attacks on the ICC in order to try and protect Israel show.

The comparison between gaza and the warsaw ghetto fails on both historical and moral grounds. The Nazis aimed to systematically eradicate the entire Jewish population of europe. The Jews in the warsaw ghetto were disarmed civilians, confined without any military capability other than a handful of small arms and some homemade bombs. By contrast, hamas is a heavily armed organization that governs gaza and initiated an attack on october 7, killing over 1,200 Israeli civilians in what was one of the deadliest antisemitic pogroms in modern history.

The current conflict in gaza is part of a military campaign, not a genocidal project like with the Nazis. Israel does not target civilians. Civilian casualties in gaza are tragic, but they are not the result Israel intentionally trying to murder them all, as was the case in poland.

That is what drive me crazy about the "Hamas was elected" argument.

They were elected almost 20 years ago and then turned around and murdered the opposition while getting support from Netanyahu because he saw Hamas as a roadblock to the two state solution.

Most of the people who are getting bombed or starved in Gaza were either children or not born yet... they had no say in their situation... but to place blame upon them is evil.

Of course not. The holocaust started with Jews being trapped in ghettos without enough calories.

The majority of Gazans were either not born or were toddlers at most when that happened. Did they "vote Hamas into place themselves"?

Israel is doing what is necessary to protect their citizens. My opinion is they are justified going through Gaza the way Sherman went through the Confederate south. Destroy HAMAS's ability to wage war and demand unconditional surrender.
