Warren Buffet: 'Trickle Down' Theory Doesn't Work

I shows that the proposed tax rates are lower than in the past, under conservative leadership.
What proposed tax rates? I was speaking in general terms, not about any specific law/bill/whatever.

And I sure as hell wasn’t focusing on any one political or ideological entity.

I get the distinct impression that you’re responding to something you inferred I said, rather than what I actually said.

Because that statement is completely unrelated to that which it was in response to.

So you are not talking about our tax system?

I was talking about taxes in general.

Anywhere, anywhen.

I was thinking specifically about the US tax system at the time, since that's what I have the most experience with.

Who's plan do you prefer?

I don't know enough about the various plans out there to make a call.

Haven't been paying much attention lately.

That's the trouble with politics these days, you almost need to spend several hours a day just keeping track of things, and frankly I can think of many things I'd rather be doing.

But I digress.

I'm not sure any of the various plans out there fit my idea of "what should be".

As I'm a fiscal libertarian/conservative, in general terms...

And the Democrat party is progressive/liberal fiscally…and so are the republicans...I think.

Progressivism…that word keeps popping up…usually connected with policies and such that I disagree with, it seems.

I just don’t know…

You forget one factor that figures greatly into the welfare socialists' mindset that has nothing to do with economic efficiency or increased tax revenues or job growth.

Its a proven fact that higher tax rates are craved by these people out of their warped sense of "fairness" which essentially involves afflicting the rich or using the tax code to punish those who were born with talent, ambition or prosperous parents

That may well be, although I have know way of being as sure of it as you appear to be.

Still, anyone who thinks that is way too illogical for me to agree with.
