America is at war in several mid eastern nations. We do not agree with their politics or human rights issues. The thing that we Americans don't seem to be able to comprehend is that these people do not think like we do or do they value human life the same way we do. How many times does it take for us to learn to not arm one side against the other. Many times we end up fighting the side we armed earlier. We are supplying arms to the Syrian rebels n an effort to overthrow that country. The Syrian rebels openly align themselves with Al-Qaeda, the faction we are fighting for so long in Iraq and was founded by Osama bin Laden, our enemy number one for over 10 years. America is trying to force their ways and values down these peoples throats just like Obama forced Obamacare down our throats. when will We the People realize this simply isn't going to work. Will the American leaders ever realize that this simple isn't going to work?

We are at war (and has been at War with one country or another since WWII, none stop) not because we think they are treating their people badly and we want to put a stop to it...We are best buddies with Oman, Saudis, Pakistan, Yemen Arab Emirates, even though they have as dismal record of human rights and human trafficking and slavery just as the other country that we have been in war with. We are at war, because they have something we want and they are not giving it willingly.

Your comment is wrong on several different points.

#1- The USA is not at war in several mid eastern nations.

We are in Afghanistan,but if you will look at a map, you will see that Afghanistan is not in the Middle East, it is in South, Central, and to some extent, Westen Asia.

#2. You say that the Syrian rebels openly align themselves with Al-Qaeda.

I see no evidence of this.

Sometimes (Not always.) The USA's business legitimately involves traveling to exotic foreign countries, meeting the unusual people there, and killing them.

Not because we hate them, but just because they are in the USA's way.

Or they have stepped on our toes, etc.

A countries gotta do, what a countries gotta do.

Despite what the reactionaries and militants will say, our primary mission in the Middle East has little to do with restructuring their societies away from social backwardness and into embracing democracy. It's about strategic development, acquiring capital assets, and implementing natural resource infrastructure. It's hard to believe that our western governments could have such one-tracked minds, but the sad reality is that they do. The conspiracy theorists would have us believe that there are complex and clandestine motivations for being in the Mid-East that are being hidden from the public, but our governments and their business partners are too simple minded for that.

The last thing these bombed nations are going to do is embrace our democratic way of life. We'll install our faux polities and consumerist economies there until we are done extracting what we want, and then we will withdraw from the region and let them turn on each other again. The Mid-East has never had long-term solvency. Much like our failed imperialism in China in the early 20th century, the Mid-East is culturally resistant to our western ideals. They will violently resist them forever.

The only way democracy or equality can come to the Middle East is from within, and we are seeing evidence that it's possible in places like Egypt. The problem is that the U.S. and its proxy Israel want to control the outcome desperately, but that is not likely going to happen. There are too many people involved in the unrest now and we can't just put pandora back in the box. The Egyptians are going to get the government they want eventually, and are willing to die for it.
