“LVIV, Ukraine (AP) — For a month now, Russian forces have repeatedly attacked Ukrainian medical facilities, striking at hospitals, ambulances, medics, patients and even newborns — with at least 34 assaults independently documented by The Associated Press.

With every new attack, the public outcry for war crimes prosecutions against Russian President Vladimir Putin, his generals and top Kremlin advisers grows louder.

To convict, prosecutors will need to show that the attacks are not merely accidents or collateral damage. The emerging pattern, tracked day by day by the AP, shows evidence of a consistent and relentless onslaught against the very civilian infrastructure designed to save lives and provide safe haven to Ukraine’s most vulnerable.

AP journalists in Ukraine have seen the deadly results of Russian strikes on civilian targets first hand: the final moments of children whose tiny bodies were shredded by shrapnel or had limbs blown off; dozens of corpses, including those of children, heaped into mass graves.

“The pattern of attacks will help prosecutors build the case that these are deliberate attacks,” said Ryan Goodman, professor of law at New York University and former special counsel at the U.S. Department of Defense. “Prosecutors will draw inferences from how many medical facilities were targeted, how many times individual facilities were repeatedly struck and in what span of time.”

Deliberate attacks on hospitals will likely be a top priority for war crimes prosecutors.”

If the West is serious about punishing that war criminal and thug (President Biden's words), it should set up a Nuremberg-style court to try all the Russian war criminals.

Of course, it will NOT.

Very soon, everything will be back to business as usual.

Remind me, did Kennedy, Johnson or Nixon go on trial for the Vietnam debacle? And then there is this;

"in 1971 the Army began a four and a half year investigation of the alleged torture of prisoners, rapes of civilian women, the mutilation of bodies and killing of anywhere from nine to well over one hundred unarmed civilians, among other acts. The articles further report that the Army's inquiry concluded that eighteen U.S. soldiers committed war crimes ranging from murder and assault to dereliction of duty. However, not one of the soldiers, even of those still on active duty at the time of the investigation, was ever court martialed in connection with the heinous crimes. Moreover, six suspected war criminals were allowed to resign from military service during the criminal investigations specifically to avoid prosecution." https://historynewsnetwork.org/article/1802

Of course it won’t, because we have no actual way of “apprehending” said war criminals.

The thought of criminals indicting and having trials against other criminals for crimes they are all guilty of seems a tad absurd to me.

Hire Israeli special ops to go get them.

How delicious when Israel deals resolutely with such criminals inside Iran itself.

They make the Iranians look so foolish!

I'm really curious how they documented the INTENT and/or he fact that said "hospitals" were real, running hospitals(with patients and doctors) !!!

That being said, there's lots of Americans that need to be investigated for war crimes for many deeds that happened before this war!

A) Israel doesn’t allow its “special ops” to be hired out as mercenaries; B) Israel has shown, rather clearly, that it has no intention of doing anything to alienate Russia; and, most importantly, C) the plan wouldn’t work no matter who you hired.

Oh, so now we’ve moved onto assassinations? That’s even less likely, because Israel knows that would make it a global pariah, first off, and secondly that Russia would retaliate…. and such retaliation might destroy Israel. If nothing else, you’d likely see Iran “mysteriously” get its hands on a couple dozen nuclear missiles and all manner of fancy military technology.

The whole thing is just nonsensical.

I also saw the media gleefully covering civilians making molotov cocktails, taking up arms for partisan warfare, vowing to resist the invader to the end. Their right and prerogatives. What the media failed to point out is that all those arming up of civilians they were cheering also makes same civilians valid military targets. You cannot give a civilian guns, molotov cocktails, bazookas and then insist he is not a valid military target.

In case anyone gets me wrong, I am not objecting to Ukrainian civilians rising up against Russians, just pointing out that the Logic of War in that instance makes them valid military targets. The Logic of War is unfair and brutal

Nor how far the canons of the Azov battalion are from the hospitals. Where the defender places his canons endangers those within blocks of the emplacement.

Then use American special forces.

That coward is hiding in the Kremlin.

Bring him to the States for trial.

After all, this country regularly brings foreign leaders here to stand trial on drug charges. (Hear tell a former Central American president will soon be brought here.)

Whataboutism.

Hospitals are valid military targets? Putin propaganda.

Conjecture to take heat off Putin.

Which would be a one way ticket for those men and still be seen as a blatantly hostile act—even an act of war.

America would become an pariah across most of the globe pretty much instantly.

Furthermore, an American team trying to kidnap or kill Putin would likely do more to shore up his support amongst the average Russian citizen than anything else. It’d certainly give him the perfect excuse to brutally stamp out those who support Western democracy within Russia itself.

We had to outright invade Panama to bring Noriega to trial.

Israel is the gold standard when it comes to extrajudicial killings, well murders lets call a spade a spade, and political assassinations. One of the big reasons why they are so loved.

Not a good look BTW Parser. Be better. Be best.

Hospitals are valid military targets? Putin propaganda.

Churches, hospitals, verterinaries, become valid military targets the moment the defenders take up positions in the vincinity. It is not a Russian invention. The US, UK, Israeli Armies have had to deal with tons of such situations.

What's conjecture about it? Ukraine declared Mariupol a fortress. No objection to that. But the Logic of War is cruel on fortresses. You want a list of US assaults of fortresses? They were not easy on the civilians trapped inside either.

Whataboutism and lame excuse making, As always, from one of Putin’s Pals.
