Actually russia is fighting just not directly in the conflict, they did wipe out a bunch of syrian mercenaries/terrorists in the region in an airstrike, but have not fought in any other capacity so far other than anti terrorism.

Best map I could find of the current situation on the ground. Obviously by the language in the compass its geared towards the Azeris, but it seems to be mostly accurate.

Armenians don’t want to lose a war to Azerbaijan and let the Aliyev dictatorship massacre the locals in Nagorno-Karabakh, who vehemently don’t want to be a part of Azerbaijan.

He wishes, problem is even though russia is more favorable to armenia, it is still friendly with the other nation as both are former soviet nations and both rely on trade with russia, I doubt they would intervene directly until necessary.

Also he is too dense to realize russia is in armenia to prevent turkey from invading, not to stop a neighbors border dispute, russia sent troops there to prevent the biggest military on the block from destroying armenia, not to stop armenia and azerbaijan from fighting.
