There does seem to be some hypocrisy or cognitive dissonance between well-off Democrats who can afford to live in walled-in homes and gated communities who are against the wall as being ineffective.
For sure. Evenmoreso when they willingly authorize, even argue for, security fencing around various targets in the Middle East which those in the Middle East seem to find quite effective in deterring unwanted intruders. Once Israel walled off the militant Palestinians, the all-too-frequent suicide and other bombings on their busses, in their crowded market places, highly damaging and/or deadly sabotage et al pretty well stopped happening at all.
Of course no fence or barrier will keep out everybody whether it is around our own property or a high security environment like the White House or a country. But they darn sure help and at least give the border patrol a lot more control of the situation.
