Delegate Derrick Evans, R-Wayne, livestreamed and then deleted videos from inside the Capitol, but others took screenshots and videos of the original videos.

House Speaker Roger Hanshaw, R-Clay, today said, “What occurred today is unpatriotic, un-American and I condemn it in the strongest terms possible.”

“Like most Americans, I am shocked, saddened, angered and disturbed by the images coming out of our nation’s Capitol today,” Hanshaw said. “The peaceful transfer of power is a bedrock principle of our republic, and is what has held the United States up as that shining city on a hill for nearly 250 years.

“I have not spoken to Delegate Evans about today’s events, I don’t know the specifics of his involvement, I have only seen what has been posted on social media so far, and I’m sure more details may come out soon. He will need to answer to his constituents and colleagues regarding his involvement in what has occurred today.”

Hanshaw alluded to criminal prosecution.

“While free speech and peaceful protests are a core value of American society, storming government buildings and participating in a violent intentional disruption of one of our nation’s most fundamental political institutions is a crime that should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

The governor’s powers in state code include the ability to jail those who engage in “hostile action” against the United States.

“He may also cause to be apprehended and imprisoned all who in time of war, insurrection or public danger shall willfully give aid, support or information to the enemy or insurgents, or who, he shall have just cause to believe, are conspiring or combining together to aid or support any hostile action against the United States or this state.”

As President Trump told a sprawling crowd outside the White House that they should never accept defeat, hundreds of his supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol in what amounted to an attempted coup that they hoped would overturn the election he lost. In the chaos, law enforcement officials said, one woman was shot and killed by Capitol Police.

The violent scene — much of it incited by the president’s incendiary language — was like no other in modern American history, bringing to a sudden halt the congressional certification of Joe Biden’s electoral victory. With poles bearing blue Trump flags, a mob that would eventually grow into the thousands bashed through Capitol doors and windows, forcing their way past police officers unprepared for the onslaught. Lawmakers were evacuated shortly before an armed standoff at the House chamber’s entrance. The woman who was shot was rushed to an ambulance, police said, and later died. Canisters of tear gas were fired across the Rotunda’s white marble floor, and on the steps outside the building, rioters flew Confederate flags.

“USA! USA!” chanted the would-be saboteurs of a 244-year-old democracy.

When you have people as diverse as Mitt Romney and Tom Cotton using the word 'insurrection', it doesn't on the face of it look good for him. In the Raffensberger tape, Trump goes on about how Georgia's neighbouring states are in a state of alarm, poor little manchurian candidate here must've got 'triggered'.
 
Rep. Evans should be reprimanded and removed from his seat in the W.VA legislature.

It would serve him right. There's no reason a duly elected official should be amongst criminals. And make no mistake, those who broke into the Capital Bldg, stole or vandalized government property are criminals. He can try and claim he was there just to record what was happening, but his first duty was to protect the public trust and that included reporting about this incident if he had advance knowledge this was going to happen or simply reporting it to authorities and stepping out of the way. But he was among the rioters and looters. He should be stripped of his elected position, be prosecuted to the fullest extend of federal law and go to jail.
