Conservatives have figured out that people who feel disconnected from society get a sense of empowerment when they can direct their frustration towards the "others".Let me provide some examples from our MAGA friends in the media:
Yesterday, the latest version of Superman came out. Audiences and critics are absolutely loving the film. James Gunn, the writer and director of the movie, said that Superman is an immigrant and his film is about being nice to each other. This theme doesn't sit well with Fox News and the right-wing media. As you can see in the link (watch it for the full context), the right-wing views this as "being woke" and promoting "illegal immigration". Note: Gunn never said anything about illegal immigration, just that the story of America is an immigrant one. The "illegal" part was made up.
There's a youtube channel called Jubilee, where they ask mostly young Americans about their views on a host of topics. If one of their videos, they asked people to blindly determine whether somebody is a Republican or Democrat. Amala, their right-wing representative, kept on asking people if they are "open-minded". If they said yes, then she immediately viewed them as a Democrat.
Recently on Capital Hill, Congresswoman Sara Jacobs told Pete Hegseth about three courageous women serving in our armed services. She points to their high remarks from commanding officers and how they have gone to beyond expectation and served with dignity. Hegseth then praised these three women for their services and dedication to America. Jacobs then told Hegseth these three women, who he highly praised, are transgender and you want to kick them out. Hegseth looked shocked and then commented on how "these are men pretending to be women".
So my question for the group is, how can being kind, open-minded, and inclusive be considered "bad"? Aren't these objectively good? Don't we want to be accepting and value about diverse culture? Or this there a real virtue for being closed-opened and being mean to each other?
I don't understand why conservatives feel attacked at the idea of inclusion and kindness.Agreed. I don't understand why people would oppose discrimination and racism once they've been rebranded as kindness and inclusion. It's like they don't understand the transformative magic of euphemisms.

Open-mindedness relates to the way in which people approach the views and knowledge of others. Jason Baehr defines an open-minded person as one who "characteristically moves beyond or temporarily sets aside his own doxastic commitments in order to give a fair and impartial hearing to the intellectual opposition".Jack Kwong's definition sees open-mindedness as the "willingness to take a novel viewpoint seriously".

"butt" LOLThis is but the tip of the iceberg on things you don't understand.

"A wise man changes his mind, a fool never will."
...James Gunn made waves with his Sunday profile in The Times of London after he explained some of the themes and ideals embedded in “Superman.” He said that the film encompassed “the story of America,” and on a fundamental level, is about a man looking for a new life away from his homeland.
Not a good idea to piss off 70 million people when you are trying to sell them a movie.
Then why did the writer, director, producer, actors, have to WOKE it up?
Actually, I think TDS libruls like you are just melting down over the lack of conservative meltdowns The only real meltdowns that have occurred are TDS inflicted libruls melting down after the 2016 and the 2024 elections.
The point is obvious, but I'll spell it out for you. No one is against kindness or inclusion. They're against DEI because of DEI's odious enforcement of identity politics (a form of racism) and its advocacy for state-enforced racial preference policies (i.e., racial discrimination).Don't be coy.
What's your point?
Have you changed your mind about Donald Trump yet?
What evidence could you present that would cause a person to realize that Trump is not a liar, sexual abuser, grifter or a bully?Have you changed your mind about Donald Trump yet?
Thank you for the evidence that supports post #2.The point is obvious, but I'll spell it out for you. No one is against kindness or inclusion. The OP's message is as dumb as asking how anyone would could be against a legislative bill that is "big and beautiful?"
Oh brother! Another one upset about the wokeness of a Superman movie. Is this for real? I mean the Superman movie is about a white dude, so WHERE is the DEI in that movie? JAYSUS!The point is obvious, but I'll spell it out for you. No one is against kindness or inclusion. But they do change their minds all the time. They were against war before they were for it with Iran, in just one example."A wise man changes his mind, a fool never will."
They are against war when Obama or Biden was for it, but are for it when Bush or Trump were for it.But they do change their minds all the time. They were against war before they were for it with Iran, in just one example.

An attempt at deflection.I'm not going to divert this thread but it you want to start a thread about DEI - DEIA I'll gladly participate.
You do not understand DEI. You are arguing against false assumptions.
Yeah, like that time they replaced the really qualified black guy with Pete Hegseth cause he was white. They're against DEI because of DEI's odious enforcement of identity politics (a form of racism

Any non white in any position of authority is seen as an assault on white people by conservatives. Always has been, just changes its name every decade.I'm not going to divert this thread but it you want to start a thread about DEI - DEIA I'll gladly participate.

It supports nothing of the kind.Thank you for the evidence that supports post #2.
