[W:44] Kushner’s Absurd Peace Plan Has Failed

Clearly, rather than solve any of the core Levant problems, Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner only succeeded in exacerbating them.
Jared in the Wall Street Journal two months ago: "We are witnessing the last vestiges of what has been known as the Arab-Israeli conflict.”

That aged well.

At the very least? The removal of all Israeli settlements from the West Bank.

While the West Bank was under Jordanian rule and there were zero Israeli settlements, there were still numerous attacks on Israel. Moreover, when Israel abandoned the Gaza Strip entirely in 2005, the Palestinians launched rocket attacks.

The assumption that the removal of settlements would lead to peace doesn't have much historical evidence to support it. I'm not saying settlement should continue - I'm saying that this doesn't seem to be Palestinians' main complaint.

much more than kushner accomplished by abandoning a two-state solution and forsaking the Palestinian cause
A free Palestine. A Palestine with human rights and democracy. A Palestine not lead by terrorists. Palestine, as a free nation, would not have problems with Israel. They'd work together like democracies do.
The Palestinians have been offered a two-state solution on numerous occasions and rejected it each time. As Kushner said, there's no reason Israel can't have good relationships with other Arab nations because the Palestinian authorities have proved so intractable.

“On both sides”

On one side we have a nuclear power with one of the world’s best militaries engaged in a campaign of ethnic cleansing and on the other side we have the people they are trying to evict from their land.

This right here is complete nonsense.

The Trump order to move the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem voided any claims by the United States to be a neutral peace negotiator.
Fat donnee also cut off aid to the Palestinians.. the ****ing fat pig turned the whole MidEast into a tinderbox. This is trump's fault!

It is the single largest impediment to any peace treaty. How is Palestine supposed to be a state when it consists of hundreds of tiny enclaves that it’s citizens can even travel between without the permission of another country?

"Kushner did not make peace between the Israelis and Palestinians, but no one else has, either. What he did was find a path for historic deals to normalize relations between Israel and the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, with perhaps other Arab countries to follow. If we don’t know how they will turn out, the deals have the potential to transform the strategic environment of the region, isolating and reducing the influence of Iran and of a feckless and corrupt Palestinian political leadership that has served its people poorly."

Stop trashing Kushner. He was successful where no one else was. He had no illusions of peace between the Israelis and Hamas.
You leftists won the last election with lies like the ones posted in this thread. I'll call you on every one you tell.

Jared's plan was brilliant, and it worked great. It wasn't until Biden took over that hostilities occured.

Coincidence?

Just ask Jared.

Not giving back territory is a war crime.

Really?

Gibraltar
Kuril Islands
Wake Atoll
Ceuta
Crimea
Falkland Islands

Heck, pretty much all of North America was someone else's territory. I guess a lot of "war criminals" in the world?

What would it take to resolve the Israel-Palestine conflict?
A sincerely motivated statesman who was respected by both sides. And a real desire by both sides to resolve the conflict.
If any of that is on the horizon, hallelujah. I'm not confident.
Did you know that there were still Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon and Jordan?

This can be easily solved in various ways without the removal of all settlements.

Also, a Palestinian state is not the only way to resolve the conflict.

What would it take to resolve the Israel-Palestine conflict?
The Palestinian leadership to want the conflict to be resolved.
The current corrupt Palestinian dictators have a lot to gain from the ongoing conflict, and a lot to lose if the conflict will be resolved. Thanks to the conflict they get a lot of attention, respect, and most importantly - money from all around the globe to help the Palestinians, money that goes mainly to their personal pockets. The conflict also helps silence internal opposition buy claiming they are enemy supporters, and redirecting the anger of the people to an external entity.
