A lawyer for the Trump Organization’s longtime former chief financial officer Allen Weisselberg signaled to a judge on Monday that Manhattan prosecutors may not have completed their charges of people and entities associated with the former president’s corporate empire.

“We have strong reason to believe there could be more indictments coming,” lawyer Bryan C. Skarlatos told Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan on Monday morning.

Of course, as we all know, this is just a "witch hunt."

Sounds like Weisselberg is cooperating with prosecutors. That does not bode well for anyone named Trump. After all, why should Weisselberg be the only one to take the fall?

“We have studied the indictment and it is full of unsupported and flawed factual and legal assertions regarding Allen Weisselberg,” they wrote in a statement. “We look forward to challenging those assertions in court.”

So yeah...it is just a witch hunt.

How did you deduce the bolded?

Yeah, it's possible. But, I personally saw nothing indicating Weisselberg's cooperating. In fact, it appears the attorney is mounting a vigorous defense - even as I realize a vigorous defense does necessarily not preclude a cooperating agreement.

If others are about to be indicted (according to his own counsel), there must be a reason. Often, it is because one defendant turns state's evidence to reduce their own penalties. By this point, I suspect the prosecution has given Weisselberg a taste of what they've got him on. That could have resulted in a game of "Let's Make a Deal!"

There could be a million reasons!

That's only one, of many.

Of course!

Anyway, not going to beat on this or you. I do respect your opinion, but I don't see it cooperation a foregone conclusion - that's for sure.

But, there is one thing different between the situation now, and the calculus of Manafort, Flynn, et al - - there's no hope of Presidential pardon! (for now)

What sort of defense lawyer would say "I studied the indictment and my guy is totes guilty"?

:ROFLMAO:

A lawyer can't go lying publicly about the facts of the case or lying to the judge about the same. This isn't that. This is a lawyer with a duty to zealously represent a defendant in a criminal case making a statement about their opinion of that case.

Absolutely hilarious and expected that you would drop a turd like that in posting slot #3.

Non sequitur. Your comment isn't supported by the quote you posted.

yep

bringing in the tRump bodyguard of 30 years now ... and his son
both reside in tRump apartments and the now retired dad continues to drive a tRump funded auto
meanwhile an additional 3 million financial documents were located in the basement of a co-conspirator

weaselberg is believed to have made his choice to serve out what he expects to be a light prison term to avoid having to deal with the consequences of betraying his oath of omerta to the mob ... i mean tRump

As I recall the problem is with individuals and not with the corporation. Individuals don't pay their taxes, the corporation doesn't do that for them.

Yours is the variety of blindness that's caused by shameless tribalism. Trump and his associates have been found to be sufficiently "extra-legal" enough times for accusations of fiscal impropriety to be considered plausible. It's NOT a witch hunt any more than if Charlie Sheen were being accused of doing coke and ****ing prostitutes. The history matters.

I try to wrap my mind around the magic Trump spell that causes so many of his followers to embrace a pathological, comically resolute credulity, but I don't get it. What is it about him that would make you think he's NOT a criminal, a liar, a rapist or, especially, a greedy POS?
