Charlie Kirk reportedly shot in Utah: Live updates

Charlie Kirk was reportedly shot near the neck during a student Q&A at Utah Valley University; no further details confirmed yet. Follow Newsweek's live blog.

This is a Breaking News Story.
Details to follow.

Allegedly, he was thirty minutes into his speech at Utah Valley University when he fell backwards after shots were heard. Early reports say he was shot in the neck.

He is currently getting medical help at a nearby hospital.
I have no information on his status but will add more as details become available.

My comment. We must reject political violence. I hope we can all agree on this point.

Also from further down the OP Newsweek article, is the eyewitness account from a journalist's son:

"He said there was one loud gunshot and Kirk's head flew back," Hatch posted on social media. "Kids started screaming and running."

This might indicate a headshot. If so, that would not be good.
 
Won't repost it here, but I saw an closer angle video of the shooting.

Lot of blood, slumped over almost immediately. Does not look good at all, but modern medicine is a miracle.
 
Unfortunately we don’t all agree on that point, Trump’s actions such as his pardons welcome and incite political violence.

Episodes like this are a terrible yet predictable outcome of the MAGA movement.

I was wondering how long it would be before the lefties started celebrating and saying things like "He deserved it" and whatnot. I can see I didn't have to wait long. This is a filthy, disgusting act.

There is video of the shot and it's almost certainly a shot to the chest. You can see his shirt move where the shot hit.
