Court Document: 221K Illegal Migrants Encountered at Border in March
According to a court document filed Friday in the federal lawsuit between Texas and Missouri against the administration of President Joe Biden, Customs and Border Protection agents encountered more than 221,000 illegal migrants along the southern border in March.

"For the month of March 2022, [Department of Human Services] reported 221,303 total encounters at the Southwest Border," the court filing states. "This figure combines statistics reported by the CBP Office of Field Operations, which deals with noncitizens seeking to enter at land ports of entry, with statistics from the U.S. Border Patrol, which apprehends noncitizens seeking to enter between [ports of entry]."

What a disaster. Meanwhile the MSM is complaining about fruits and vegetables rotting in trucks, not the people packed inside of them.

Yes, your post, your numbers.

So why are you referencing "encounters"? Were they all turned away?

What did the article say? You should probably read it.

This nation has passed the point of no return regarding undocumented immigrants. (Remember: there is no such thing as an "illegal" human being.)

Actually, both sides love the flow of "irregularly arrived" immigrants: many employers want new employees (who at least for a while are meek and obedient), and many liberals are thrilled that so many people are coming here from Latin America, Africa, and Asia.

I believe that Ms. Hillary a while back broached the possibility of Mexico and the U.S. and Canada being one nation.

So this nation might as well just tear down the remaining walls.

We now have an open border policy.

Candidate Biden promised that he would be extremely progressive.

So he is just keeping his promise to the (reputed) 80,000,000 people who voted for him.

You don't know why you listed encounters?
You didn't even read your own article did you. As the thread starter, you'd think you'd be able to comment on your own post. Silly me.

The sky is falling! The sky is falling!

Non-citizens seeking to enter at land ports of entry. So if I show up at the Peace Arch crossing to go to a Mariners game I get counted on that list?
Did you know that about 70,000 northbound vehicles and 20,000 northbound pedestrians cross each day at San Grid to alone?

You don't know why you listed encounters?

Because that's the topic of the news article. The largest number of encounters in over 20 years.
You didn't even read your own article did you. As the thread starter, you'd think you'd be able to comment on your own post. Silly me.

The answer to your question is in the article you didn't read - not my problem.

But you don't want to discuss the article, you want an argument to break out and I'm not taking your silly bait.

Goodbye.

Asking you why you thought 220K encounters, your post title, was important to post citing it as a "disaster", is baiting?

Are you really aware that you made a thread on a debate forum?

Did the article address your concern?

Legally, I might add. I support legal immigration; always have and always will.

"...noncitizens seeking to enter at land ports of entry, " doesn't say anything about legality. The quote from the court filing says...
It sure looks to me like they counted everyone, legal crossings at ports of entry and apprehensions of illegals, and included them all in that 221,303 number. And then a dishonest headline was put on the article.

Yes, your number. Or did someone else post it for you?

The number came from the article, the article about the largest number of encounters in over 20 years.

That's literally what the article and thread are all about: a record number. It's Breaking News.

Why are you trying to turn it into something else, like @Mach ??

Hard not to see this as an invasion. How many troops did Russia invade the Ukraine with? Wasn't it about 200K troops?
Did you read the article? They included all 'non-citizens seeking to enter at land ports of entry' in that number.
