[W: #18] Jesus is GOD (1 Viewer)

JOHN 20:27-28
27Then Jesus said to Thomas, “Put your finger here and look at My hands. Reach out your hand and put it into My side. Stop doubting and believe.” 28Thomas replied, “My Lord and my God!” 29Jesus said to him, “Because you have seen Me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”…

NOW, is JESUS the MESSIAH YOUR LORD and YOUR GOD? I have not seen, and yet I believe.

You leave out all context on this situation, don't you know? Jesus taught the disciples that His Father was "in" him, but they did not understand....here see for yourself, and by the way Thomas is mentioned here:

(Joh 14:5) Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
(Joh 14:6) Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
(Joh 14:7) If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
(Joh 14:8) Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
(Joh 14:9) Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
(Joh 14:10) Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
(Joh 14:11) Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.

Now with Thomas' declaration makes perfect scriptural sense......Jesus was teaching them that His Father was "in" him and now that Thomas sees the risen Jesus, he understands and sees the Father "in" Christ, for how can this man be alive when he saw him crucified, but only if God was with him.

Snatching scripture out of context to form strange, foreign ideals does scripture a disservice. There is only One who is God and Jesus declares this to be His Father......will you now believe him?

Who is the Angel of the Lord in Genesis 22?

Genesis 22

After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, “Abraham!” And he said, “Here I am.”
2 He said, “Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you.”

11 But the angel of the Lord called to him from heaven and said, “Abraham, Abraham!” And he said, “Here I am.”

12 He said, “Do not lay your hand on the boy or do anything to him, for now I know that you fear God, seeing you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me.”

15 And the angel of the Lord called to Abraham a second time from heaven
16 and said, “By myself I have sworn,
declares the Lord, because you have done this and have not withheld your son, your only son,
17
I will surely bless you, and I will surely multiply your offspring as the stars of heaven and as the sand that is on the seashore. And your offspring shall possess the gate of his enemies,
18 and in your offspring shall all the nations of the earth be blessed, because you have obeyed my voice.”

You originally made the remark that there was NO verse in the Bible where JESUS is called GOD. And clearly, that isn't the case. There are scripture passages where JESUS reveals HIMSELF as "I AM". And this is also in light of Thomas's declaration a revelation that CHRIST was not a created being. ONLY GOD can forgive sin and ONLY GOD has authority to give others any ability to act as an emissary of GOD as JESUS did with HIS Apostles. They were acting on JESUS' behalf ---- and in so doing they would be in essence be acting on behalf of the entire TRINITY (FATHER<SON<HOLY SPIRIT). THEY are ONE.

Abraham had three visitors, one of whom he addressed as “Jehovah.” The visitors were actually angels, but one of them came in Jehovah’s name and was acting in His name. When that angel spoke and acted, it was, in effect, Jehovah speaking and acting. By this means, Jehovah told Abraham that He had heard a great “outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah.” Jehovah stated: “I will go down to see whether they are acting according to the outcry that has reached me. And if not, I can get to know it.” (Genesis 18:3, 20, 21)

Of course, Jehovah’s message did not mean that the Almighty would “go down” in person. Rather, he again sent angels to represent him. (Genesis 19:1) Why? Could the all-seeing Jehovah not “get to know” the true condition of that region on his own? Certainly. But instead, Jehovah humbly gave those angels the assignment to investigate the situation and to visit Lot and his family in Sodom.

Angels
From the Hebrew mal·ʼakhʹ and the Greek agʹge·los. Both words literally mean “messenger” but are rendered “angel” when referring to spirit messengers. (Ge 16:7; 32:3; Jas 2:25; Re 22:8) Angels are powerful spirit creatures, created by God long before the creation of mankind. They are also referred to in the Bible as “holy myriads,” “sons of God,” and “morning stars.” (De 33:2; Job 1:6; 38:7) They were not made with the ability to reproduce their own kind but were created individually. They number well over a hundred million. (Da 7:10) The Bible indicates that they have personal names and distinct personalities, yet they humbly refuse to receive worship, and most even avoid disclosing their names. (Ge 32:29; Lu 1:26; Re 22:8, 9)

They have different ranks and are assigned a variety of roles, including serving before Jehovah’s throne, conveying his messages, intervening in behalf of Jehovah’s earthly servants, executing God’s judgments, and supporting the preaching of the good news. (2Ki 19:35; Ps 34:7; Lu 1:30, 31; Re 5:11; 14:6) In the future they will support Jesus in fighting the battle of Armageddon.—Re 19:14, 15.

One of these is addressed by Abraham as YAHWEH and in all likelihood is in fact a pre-incarnate manifestation of the MESSIAH. And in fact would be the I AM and one with the FATHER and the HOLY SPIRIT. JESUS is the bodily manifestation of GOD.

As it says, "an angel of the Lord"......don't you believe God sends angels to do His bidding and speak His words? Somehow you miraculously see this angel as the preincarnate Jesus.....wow, that's quite a stretch, ain't it?

Jesus saying, "I am".....is yes, he is the Christ, the Son of God. The religious leaders did not believe him and so do many today. Many raise him to a stature only for the Father of the Christ, namely the only True God. Jesus would be astonished seeing so many claiming he is God, when through his entire ministry He claimed His Father is the only true God.

Once that trinity doctrine gets locked into the psyche, it's hard to let go for its strong delusion. They've written tens of thousands of books on the subject, each making it more and more unclear than the previous. Religious sophistry making a god out of their own image.

(Rom 1:21) Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
(Rom 1:22) Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
(Rom 1:23) And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
(Rom 1:24) Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
(Rom 1:25) Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

The TRINITY is found throughout nature. GOD the SON created Nature. GOD is a mystery. One cannot know everything regarding GOD. Compared to GOD, we know very little? https://www.keithferrin.com/blog/simple_explain_trinity

The above is concerning individual who worship idols. Idols of men, bulls, dogs, frogs, cats ----- you name it... These individuals served temple harlots and burned babies. And then there are tree huggers, and individuals who believe life was brought about by the UNIVERSE and not GOD. This has nothing to do with the TRINITY. I worship GOD the FATHER and GOD the SON. JESUS CHRIST humbled HIMSELF, took on the sins of the entire world, suffered terribly. JESUS is worthy of all the worship we can give HIM, and salvation isn't dependent on if JEHOVAH is the proper term to apply to GOD or not. If anything, the correct name of GOD would be in HEBREW.

So when are you going to start using the Hebrew name for Jesus?

The phrase "God the Son" is nonexistent in scripture. The trinity is paganism mixed within Christianity. It's more like "Mystery Babylon", thus why they chock it up to a mystery, which cannot be explained as an excuse to worship such a doctrine.

All one needs to do is to find and follow the God of Jesus. His God is True.

I beg to differ. The verses in Romans pictures trinitarians to a T.....look closely. It says, "when they knew God", "they glorified him not as God", "but changed God into an image like unto corruptible man"........Jesus was a real human being, and trinitarians have raised the Christ OF God INTO God, precisely what Paul is speaking of here. The trinity has been around for thousands and thousands of years in various forms across the globe through the history of mankind. It's a doctrine of man which has been incorporated into Christianity deceiving many in its web.

Let's not play games with something pertaining to the Scriptures and GOD.

Did you read the verse?
Why did the angel say He is GOD?

Genesis 22

After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, “Abraham!” And he said, “Here I am.”
2 He said, “Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you.”

11 But the
angel of the Lord called to him from heaven and said, “Abraham, Abraham!” And he said, “Here I am.”
12 He said, “Do not lay your hand on the boy or do anything to him,
for now I know that you fear God, seeing you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me.”

15 And the angel of the Lord called to Abraham a second time from heaven
16 and said, “By myself I have sworn, declares the Lord, because you have done this and have not withheld your son, your only son,
17
I will surely bless you, and I will surely multiply your offspring as the stars of heaven and as the sand that is on the seashore. And your offspring shall possess the gate of his enemies,
18 and in your offspring shall all the nations of the earth be blessed, because you have obeyed my voice.

When an angel is sent/dispatched by God the words he speaks ARE the words of God and not his own......Capisce?

Again, the angel is speaking FOR God.......why change/remove the word "angel" to suit false doctrine?

The angel is speaking the very words of God.....it that too hard to grasp?

Either way it matters not, for you want to take it a step further, by stating this "angel of the Lord" is the preincarnate Jesus....??? That is how one "reads" into scripture, adding ideals foreign to bolster false doctrine.

Quit messing with the words of scripture.

Here's the beautiful thing about The TRUTH.
The Truth doesn't come alone.

It's corroborated and followed by others. From other parts of the Bible.
It's like playing a game of tag with verses. :)

Like how one line in Genesis 22 is supported or aligned with Isaiah 45...........in showing that it's GOD who's speaking.

Isaiah 45

21 Declare and present your case;
let them take counsel together!
Who told this long ago?
Who declared it of old?
Was it not I, the Lord?
And there is no other god besides me,
a righteous God and a Savior;
there is none besides me.

22 “Turn to me and be saved,
all the ends of the earth!

For I am God, and there is no other.

23 By myself I have sworn;
from my mouth has gone out in righteousness
a word that shall not return:

‘To me every knee shall bow,
every tongue shall swear allegiance.’

GOD knows what's in our hearts.
amen.

God knows what's in our minds.
amen.

Nothing is hidden from GOD.
amen.

IF................IF you can already see you're wrong - and are simply being stubborn in sticking to your belief - which have been proven wrong by GOD Himself..............you're not doing yourselves any favor.

It is GOD who's trying to reach out to you folks.
Why am I so bold in saying that?

Because these arguments I'm giving to you these days, have all been coming from the Bible............and I, myself becomes aware of them only as I "discover" them, as I go along, before posting!
It's like I'm being guided what to post!

To believe that JESUS is GOD, must matter.
It must be important!
Otherwise, why are we having this prolonged debate......................in which by the looks of it..................... GOD has even involved Himself, through the Bible?

Look at all the evidence!
And I mean...............ALL THE EVIDENCE!

No evidence given, stands alone!
They're all connected!

Now take that thought even further:

(Joh 8:26) I have many things to say and to judge of you: but he that sent me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of him.

(Joh 8:28) Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.

(Joh 8:40) But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham.

Who's "word" did Jesus speak?......who's "word" did the angel of the Lord speak?

They both spoke the "Words of God" and the entirety of scripture rings loud, clear, and true......There is only One God, literally only One.....the Father.

Follow the God of Jesus.

Those have been rebutted already.
All the verses that show Jesus speaking and referring to GOD as a Father, or His GOD.......all those have been answered already.
You can dig them all up, but they were all answered and rebutted.

Let me answer them ALL for the last time:

THERE ARE MANY TIMES WHEN JESUS SPEAKS AS THE SON OF GOD.
THERE ARE MANY TIMES WHEN JESUS SPEAKS AS A MAN.
BUT THERE ARE MANY TIMES TOO..................... THAT HE SPEAKS AS GOD.

If God can appear as a burning bush and speak to Moses.............why can't GOD appear as a human, that He may be seen, speak directly to, and dwell with man?

I have the same God as Jesus......I'm at ease knowing the truth. Also know there is no convincing a trinitarian of "anything".....it is what it is.

The Israelites and all the tribes, the Jews at the time of Jesus, and early Christians did not hold to a 'triune god'......ALL of them for thousands of years held strictly to One God......and this has not changed for the People of God. We sojourn through a strange world full of strange gods, idolatry and disbelief.

Which says nothing.

Because, those are simply opinions. Your personal opinions.
They're not rebuttals.
Nothing biblical about them.
You're just....................digging in.

As the saying goes about leading the horse to water.........

What more can I say?
You're entitled to your own belief.

Have a nice day.

Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God our Mediator between God and man, our High Priest, our Lord........and we follow Jesus by having the same God as him, namely the Father. It's that simple.

The doctrine of the trinity is false and is idolatry.

You divide God up into a three-in-one mystery, then you divide Jesus into two natures, as if one nature doesn't know the other nature nor what he says, as if he is two different persons.......craaaaazy, all to support false doctrine.

Believe scripture, believe Jesus and you will know Jesus spoke not his words, but those of His Father's.......just like the 'angel of the Lord' did. All the glory goes to the Father, the only true God.
