JOHN 20:27-28
27Then Jesus said to Thomas, “Put your finger here and look at My hands. Reach out your hand and put it into My side. Stop doubting and believe.” 28Thomas replied, “My Lord and my God!” 29Jesus said to him, “Because you have seen Me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”…
NOW, is JESUS the MESSIAH YOUR LORD and YOUR GOD? I have not seen, and yet I believe.
You leave out all context on this situation, don't you know? Jesus taught the disciples that His Father was "in" him, but they did not understand....here see for yourself, and by the way Thomas is mentioned here:
(Joh 14:5) Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
(Joh 14:6) Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
(Joh 14:7) If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
(Joh 14:8) Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
(Joh 14:9) Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
(Joh 14:10) Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
(Joh 14:11) Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.
Now with Thomas' declaration makes perfect scriptural sense......Jesus was teaching them that His Father was "in" him and now that Thomas sees the risen Jesus, he understands and sees the Father "in" Christ, for how can this man be alive when he saw him crucified, but only if God was with him.
Snatching scripture out of context to form strange, foreign ideals does scripture a disservice. There is only One who is God and Jesus declares this to be His Father......will you now believe him?
