[W: 119] Neighbors Help Gay Man Paint House in Rainbow Stripes After He Faced Threats

People get nuts about how other people's property looks and particularly about what color they paint their house.

That guy wanted attention specifically about being gay as a sex statement, while maybe others preferred houses look like private homes. He got attention.

I have a saying that if a person goes looking for trouble sometimes they are unlucky enough to find it.

That said, I am HUGE on personal property rights and he can paint his house any color he wants to. I don't see any goodness in others joining in with his sex-advertisement paint job. But it is his right.
The person who considers a particular color pattern on a house (or anything for that matter) as somehow connected to sex is the problem there, not the person painting their house that color, in a way not connected to sex at all.

That is not a reasonable position for any Baptist, anyone to hold. It has never been legitimately used as a symbol of hate. They don't just get to make that claim because they don't like it or who uses it.

Again your opinion. Baptists (some) view homosexuality as an abomination and a flag representing homosexuality an assault on their religion.

I'm just here to see the right wingers complain about what someone did with his own property.

Hmm ... explain how it works?
Look, the news is typical for the United States - a white police officer exceeded his authority and shot an unarmed black citizen during the arrest.
Without irony, in most countries of the world, the adjectives "white" and "black" would not stand anywhere, because it is not important for justice. Maybe I will write a terrible sedition, but there are no black rights, there are human rights. But your media, your leaders of public opinions incite hatred, constantly translating all offenses and crimes into a racist, chauvinistic, xenophobic plane... all this is done under the guise of a noble, supposedly " fight against...", but it provokes only opposition in society.
After all, this has been happening for more than a year, or two, or ten years... and not even twenty anymore... it's not funny. Or you are like the Communist Party in the USSR -here they say a little bit and we will live in a better society... For 70 years, people have been deceived like this.
We're failing our goals and aspirations right now, yes.

But it doesn't change the fact that this is a culture of inclusion, not division. At least, we aspire to be.

And the vast majority of us succeed. What you see on the news is a tiny sensationalized fragment design to increase viewership.

So what? Baptists themselves are an assault on my religion.

I don’t know. Find an article about a redneck complaining about his neighbors’ response to said rusted car and start one.
Wow.

That just blew right over you, huh? Didn't even catch the chem trails as that went past, did you?

Nope. Not just my "opinion". Reasonable person viewpoint is not that hard to determine here when it comes to recognizing the lack of logic in trying to claim that a rainbow flag or painting a house rainbow colors is a hate crime. It is not at all a reasonable viewpoint simply because a few don't understand what assault on their religion means.

Hate crime? What are you talking about?

How many people's property was attacked because of showing support for T
So, you're admitting that at some point this guy will be either beat up or his home vandalized. In other words, he still has the same problem he had before. He just has more people who will send him get well cards in the hospital or send flowers to the funeral home or people who may start a gofundme account after his home is burned down to the ground. His problems are not over. That's the point. Nothing really changed.

Sure, he got other people to paint his house without paying them. Everyone owes a victim.

I mix my fabrics and eat shellfish.

Also, I have sex with no intention of having any more children.

I blaspheme regularly, because it makes for better cussing than just naming off excretions and sexual acts.

I haven't gone to church since 1976.

The Baptists can just lump it.

The TaliBornAgains are all about telling the rest of us we aren't doing it right. But, yet, half the time when you read about some asshole caught up in a sexual scandal or committing sexual assault or colleting child porn, it's one of these Evangelicals.

Remember the preacher man who got off on watching his wife get hit in all three holes by other guys while he sucked down on Jack and Coke? He's the same guy who banned alcohol for those at his school and made premarital sex an expulsion office.

Even if they're legit, they don't have a right to not be offended, and if they think I need to live according to their religious rules, they can kiss my ass.

To a stupid Baptist. Unless somehow the LGBTA community has started rounding up Baptists and throwing them into concentration camps or trying to convert them to be gay.
lol
In the new Dracula series on Netflix Dracula is scared of the cross, not because of the holy power it emanates but because when he drinks a human he absorbs their mind and being and the cross killed and murdered so many people for so long that fear of the cross is written into him. So its not that the cross is Holy but because of the crusades and witch burnings that he is terrified of the cross. The new Dracula series on Netflix is pretty ****in good I loaded it up thinking it was going to be dumb and gimmicky but couldn't put it down after the first episode.

Dear neanderthals and their supporters,

It's now 2021.

Threatening to kill someone for painting their house in colours you deem unacceptable is not civilized behaviour.

This is why HOA's exist.

Australia.

Beautiful one day.

Perfect the next.

Exactly. That's why I won't give up my identity as a Christian, no matter how often they tell me my beliefs do not align with theirs.

Yes it does, its a f*****g eyesore. It doesnt "make me uncomfortable", it makes me want to suck my eyeballs out with a shop vac. There are codes in neighborhoods for this very reason. It makes me want to vomit. If I lived next to that, its hard to say what I'd do.
Awwww... an eyesore???!!!! Poor baby! Here... let me get you your binky and blanket. There there... do you feel safe now? I'm sorry the mean man's rainbow house triggered you.

It is not your house. It is not your property. It is not your concern. If you are losing sleep and "want to suck your eyeballs out with a shop vac, maybe you need to reevaluate your priorities.

Ya know, there are people tomorrow that are getting chemotherapy right?

Lots of people in our hood in need. None make the headlines.
