The Voyager 1 and 2 probes the two furthest away from Earth man made objects that are still working and still communicating with Earth. A new model from Scientist indicates that Voyager 1 was left the Solar System and is the first man made device to reach interstellar space. Not bad for device that has less computing power then the computer I'm typing on.

Voyager one is over 18 billion KM away from the sun and takes light 34 hours to make a round trip from the sun to Voyager and back to the sun again.

So far Voyager 1 has 'left the Solar System' by passing through the termination shock three times, the heliopause twice, and once each through the heliosheath, heliosphere, heliodrome, auroral discontinuity, Heaviside layer, trans-Neptunian panic zone, magnetogap, US Census Bureau Solar System statistical boundary, Kuiper gauntlet, Oort void, and crystal sphere holding the fixed stars.

Despite your sarcasm.....Just goes to show that our solar system is far bigger than we thought. We keep finding "additions" to it.

I think that it would be utterly beautiful synchronicity if we finally lose contact with Voyager on the same day Chuck Berry (the artist) dies.
