Only registered Republicans are allowed to vote, except in those states that allow open primaries. Illegal voters get turned over to the proper authorities. These are my predictions for the ones running.

Someone else. And God help me, if our political parties can't give me someone decent...Trump again. Unless the dems field someone even worse, like Soros, bill Maher, or something.

When a sitting president receives a challenge, he either loses the general, withdraws which the new nominee loses the general. I have no idea if Trump will choose to run again or not. One thing is for certain, I will never vote for him. History of sitting presidents who were challenged.

1952 Estes Kefauver challenged Truman and beat Truman in the New Hampshire primary. Truman withdrew. But Stevenson won the nomination and lost to Eisenhower.
1968 Eugene McCarthy challenged LBJ and lost narrowly to LBJ in the New Hampshire primary. LBJ withdrew, Humphrey would become the Democratic nominee only to lose to Nixon in the general election.
1976 Ronald Reagan challenged Ford, Ford prevailed, but lost to Jimmy Carter in the general election.
1980 Teddy Kennedy challenged Carter, Carter prevailed, but lost to Reagan in the general election.
1992 Pat Buchanan challenged G.H.W. Bush, Bush prevailed, but lost to Bill Clinton in the general election.

Whenever a sitting president is challenged, he loses or his party nominee loses the presidential election. If Trump decides to run for reelection in 2020 and is challenged by Kasich, Rubio, Flake and or someone else, he'll lose the general or whomever receives the Republican nomination will lose the general. Even if Trump isn't challenged, unless the Democrats nominate another Hillary Clinton, we'll have a Democratic president after 2020.

His base is solid at 35% of all voters & over 90% approval of Republicn voters. If Flake or Kasich ran they would not have a chance!
In the unlikely event that somewhere down the line after Trump either in 2020 or 2024 or beyond I would vote for a Democrat for the
first time ever rather than Flake, Kasich or Romney. I'd support Pence, Cotton & a few others Matt Gaetz in ten years or so, they make sense.

If Tulsi Gabbard ran against Flake or Kasich I just wouldn't vote for her I'd contribute financially to her campaign I like her stance on
foreign policy better than almost any other potential candidate of either party!

Kasich continues to piss off more and more Republicans in Ohio. Flake lives up to his name

It only seems the republicans are doomed because the democrats gained so many seats in the House in the last corrupted election. No matter. The devil and democrats are doing their best to drive God out and they will succeed, according to Biblical prophecy. Jesus will gather His saints out of the world before the start of the Great Tribulation Judgment of God on the whole world for its sin and rebellion.

I don't know because Republicans seem to be flaky. I think Allen West or any former service members would be prefect.

interesting-wonder where they had Trump four years ago?
That would be interesting to see.

2019 is less than a month away. Chatter is picking up now. Have a feeling there is going to be a number of names coming forth as there was in the 2016 Republican Presidential Primary.

Funny you don't see a Cruz, Rubio, Bush , Jindal, Huckabee, Christie, or a Santorum on that list. Gotta think that clown car will be arriving soon.

The first day odds came out on Trump June 2015 I had only $50 in 5dimes so I bet Trump & won $800:
He was 60 to1 to win the presidency & 20 to 1 to win the nomination

314586473-1 6/18/15 6:15pm $5.00 $300.00 $305.00 Win 11/8/16 6:00am Politics 5 D Trump wins Election +6000 vs Field wins Presidential Election

Kasich & Flake: "Legends in their own minds." They are both so self-absorbed and full of moral preening
to ever compromise one iota with a powerful personality like Trump.

Didn't you love how Kasich stayed in the Republican race all the way to the end, just so he could finish
in third place? What a loser. I guess Kasich thinks he can beat the 2 or 3 percent he got in the last primary...

Another theocrat.

I won't vote for any of those people. Give me someone who leans libertarian or is libertarian. I'm sick of there only being 2 real possible choices. I don't see that changing anytime soon, though.

So I can register as a republican and then happily vote for the democrat candidate. Wonderful.

She may have been slightly more tolerable as UN ambassador than Samantha Power & Susan Rice but
that's hardly a reason even to consider here. I think Trump gave her that position so he could have
someone more to his liking Henry McMaster as Governor of South Carolina.

I'm not a registered Republican, so I can't vote in your poll, but I will likely vote for Trump if he opts to run for a second term.

However, I don't think it is likely he would win unless he actually completes some of his signature campaign promises like:

1. Build the wall, which won't likely happen unless the lame duck GOP Congress votes the funds before the Democrats fill the House;

2. Win the Trade war with China, which IMO looks like a distinct possibility;

3. Continue to build the economy with steady growth the next two years;

4. Fix general Immigration policy, eliminating the lottery and other unfair jump the line options.

5. Maintain good job statistics.

When all his current successes, (strong economic growth, jobs, better trade deals, judicial appointments, EU NATO funding, cutting U.N. subsidies, etc.) are added to successful completion of those commitments I believe he could campaign on a winning platform despite all the anti-Trump media propaganda and his own social gaffes.

I can imagine Romney using his influence to try and wrest away the nomination. It'll be a hard slog against the cult of Trump and will only have a chance if the president has been severely weakened.

He may also try to undermine Trump and even depose him: as Trump's legal woes mount there'll be some pressure for impeachment within the GOP and a decent whip might sway a large enough portion of them to vote with the Dems. Perhaps they'll push the cabinet for a 25th amendment removal. Maybe things won't go so well for the economy and his base starts to erode. With Trump out of the way, Pence won't really have the following to reliably carry 2020. Romney might find himself in a position to challenge a lame-duck, recently promoted VP in a primary.
