It's interesting to see popular opinion moving in Romney's favor on this. He's becoming a bit of a martyr here in Utah and it seems to be moving his way nationally outside of Trump's base.
By a more than 10-point margin, registered voters approve of Republican Sen. Mitt Romney's decision to break with his party and vote to convict President Donald Trump on one of the articles of impeachment against him, according to a Morning Consult/Politico poll conducted after last week's vote.
The Utah senator's vote marked the first time in U.S. history that a senator voted to convict a president from his own party in an impeachment trial.
Half of the voters surveyed said they approved of Romney's vote to find Trump guilty of abuse of power, while 39% said they disapproved and 10% said they didn't know or didn't have an opinion.
Mitt Romney impeachment vote approved by voters 50%-39%, poll finds

Gee, I am not surprised that 50% approved.
I wonder how that will translate when Mitt is up for re-election...as a Republican. :coffeepap:

Romney will not be re-elected
Trump has been forever acquitted
An impeachment is just an accusation
The only poll that counts is the one taken by the voters come this November
We have no idea who the people were that were polled
I wasn't one of tghem
Okay, so revising my comment...
Giving all of the Democrats to "approved" (34%), and 25% Republican to Disapprove...
That would mean 16% of Independents "approved," 14% "disapproved," and 10% were "unsure."
That would fall in with how I see it as well.
IMO unless Trump's economy crashes before November 2019...this won't change the results of that election.
