Hello Hello Hello! Let me start off by saying im glad to be a member, seems like this site has some very active and intelligent members.
About myself, im a husband, a father and part-time lounge singer. Okay, I made that last part up. I dont know what happened to me, I grew up a stupid, naive, misguided, herded, typical American. I owned name-brand clothes and shoes, I was popular, I had nice things, I hated reading, news, didnt care for politics or history, never was very bright in school, was your typical rebellious child. Joined the Military, got older, recieved more and more responsibility and *poof*, im a differant person. I do everything I just said I didnt use to.
I personally believe there is a huge gap between USA and USG, I think Americans need to be more self-sufficient and less greedy. I believe a majority of problems are stemmed from either or both of those problems and they are what need to be changed, not Goverment regulation. Im not a fan of the cookie-cutter solution to unique problems, not a fan of having things dumbed down or taking away from me because the other guy is an idiot.
I joined the site because certain things interest me that ive found dont spark interest in many people around me. I find it hard to talk about things with other people, like Goverment, Corruption, Socialism, Wasting Money, Dollar Devaluation..... at an indepth level. I did a google search for an intelligent debate forum, had a few that had little to no traffic and stumbled upon this gem. Im already getting my feet wet!
Now I admit im not the most intelligent or fact-knowing person there is. I never debated professionally before, and I do speak just from my own personal opinion, but I do enjoy a good debate, I want to see/appreciate the other sides view. I respect people and a good disagreement. Im civil and understand that some people grew up in a differant world (even if it was just down the street) and I respect that. So if I come off as "not knowing what the hell im talking about" it might just be because I didnt read that 40 page article or watch 23 hours of CNN this week, but id still love to tell you my side of the story and listen to yours as well.
Thank you for your time! Hope to hear from you.
