Finally, Republicans are using the term "civil war". However, they are not using it to describe the situation in Iraq, but instead, the Republican party itself. And you know what? They are right. So, is half the Republican party, which is now against Bush, for the terrorists? The answer to that question reveals just how ludicrous and dishonest that kind of rhetoric is. With 70% of the US population no longer for Bush, I think the administration, along with the 30 per centers, are going to have to redefine their intellectually shallow definition of patriotism.

You know, this does not make me happy. I believe alot of Democrats will be delighted because they will see that the Republicans are imploding. I believe we need two viable parties (at least). The Bush administration believes they can continue their arrogance, and this attitude is turning in upon their own 'side'. It was divisive when it was trained on Democrats, but I think it is even more destructive when they use it on Republicans.

I don't want the Republicans to implode in this manner. I sincerely wish Bush would just defend his assertion that the extra troops are needed and that they will succeed. Accusing members of his own party of aiding the enemy is not leadership. It is an outgrowth of his un-democratic impulses. In this case directed toward manipulating critics into censoring themselves.

These are Rats leaving a ship in serious distress, almost at the stage of sinking.
One wonders where they will jump to?

The Republican party imploding would make me ebullient. I’d be even happier if their shrapnel torn into and fragmented the Democrats as well. It sure would be nice to have more than a semblance of a representative democracy for once, and that ain’t gonna happen while third parties are considered jokes.

This is something that the signs have shown coming for quite some time.
The 2008 election Republican Primaries are going to be about the heart and soul of the party between the neocons/right-wing and the true Republicans that lost their party about a decade ago. For a while both groups were able to co-exist...however, as the right-wing tried to push their agenda even more to the right...the country backlashed....add in the failed foreign policy of their hero GWB....and I think the Republicans possibly might regain their party.

This won't affect the Democrats much, but don't despair. Just as I predicted more than a year ago what is now happening in the GOP, I am also predicting the same will happen to the Democrats too. Just wait until the 2008 primaries. The Democratic candidates (and there are quite a few of them) will be throwing so much mud at each other, their party will also fracture. :)

I hope so. Maybe then the Libertarian party will finally rise up and give both the Dems and the GOP some much needed competition!

I'll drink to that, but don't forget that Ron Paul is running as a Republican in 2008. He's got my vote already. :)
