The hurricane was a tradjedy and many lives were lost but the victims need to make the best of it. Can they not do anything themselves? The government in Indonesia didn't help them much at all, not even everyone got food. I would like to see Indonesia's goverment respond to a class 5 hurricane how ours did.
People's homes were destroyed in the hurricane just how the Indonesian's were destroyed during the tsunami but those people actually did something to rebuild their homes. Everyone helped eachother instead of sitting in a convention center being fed like babies while they complain.
The media makes the people in the convention center look helpless but the tsunami victims had the same problem and they helped eachother rebuild instead of complaining about racism and how the government should have acted sooner.
The media also makes it look like the federal government is ignoring the problem when they aren't. State and local governments should have prepared better for such a large hurricane. The people of New Orleans would find something wrong with the president or the government even if they had done a perfect job.
Some people from the french quarter formed a little society to fix things and pass out food. They made the best of being stuck in a flooded city. If everyone did that think how much farther we would have come by now. Instead of helping though, many of the people are waiting for the government to solve all the problems for them.
