Except for a few months each summer, it rains there constantly. Permanent Atlantic wind blows either from the Atlantic to the North or the mountains to the South, often enough both a the same. Since that is more than anyone can bear while sober, they drink a lot of cider which they make from the apples grown solely for that purpose.

So, no wonder.
