They should ring up the current administration to find out what the staffing and maintenance costs are going to be as well. In order for walls to be effective, they need more support than just being built. Oh, and they'll need clarification on whether the wall will include a section underground to prevent people tunneling underneath it; that will add to the cost as well.

Why wouldn't it be "legit." If people want to pay specifically to build Trump's wall, let them. I don't know whether that'll get the wall built, but folks can certainly donate their money to an effort to fund the government's doing so.

If the wall is built correctly , MUCH LESS staff will be needed than for the asinine little fence we now have....

Assuming that you occasionally go outside: it is FAR EASIER to keep people from defeating a 30+ foot wall with, zero grips points, outward facing concertina wire, than it is to keep the same people from circumventing a 15 ft. fence with handholds from top to bottom.

Already are with the new trade deal....an stopping the $130 billion+ annual drain on tax dollars stopping their INVASION will save us, they will MORE THAN PAY FOR IT....by not being allowed to steal from us anymore.

I understand it just fine thanks. What you don't seem to address is nothing has been mentioned about the costs of patrolling and maintaining that wall over the long term, or what the comprehensive plan is to address illegal immigration resulting from people who arrive on airplanes and over stay their visas. If you're proposing spending $25 billion dollars on just a wall without even addressing what measures will be taken to prevent breaches etc., then excuse me for not taking you seriously. I ask more clarity for people doing much simpler jobs, because planning is nice.

Lets see how far this will go. It might be a good indication how many people really want a wall and how many will hold Trump responsible for giving in. He made a promise, people voted for him because of that promise. So imho, this is about what people want and not just about Trump, but more so about anything and anyone who might make it happen.

Hey, ya know, while they are at it, maybe do a study on how many fingernails will eventually need be broken just so someone can have this wall... and what about all the porta-potties necessary, eh? We should not forget that heavy expense item... these potties are not self cleaning either, need constant maintenance as well, emptied how many times a week?

Seems like a fact you might actually know...

Just curious, how many other negative obstacles can you name? Too bad we didn't have this kinda thinking before man became civilized... then we wouldn't need all this constant fighting for and against socialism, everybody would have remained equally dirt eating poor...

How, pray tell, will a trade deal have another country pay for a wall? Or anything the government does?
 
Cool. As long as as my my tax dollars aren’t used for it then build away. Now we just need to get them to start paying for all the pointless wars with Gofundme as well. :)

Seriously, though, is there even a mechanism by which individuals and groups can specifically earmark donations to the federal government for specific things?
