Very pleased Trump decided to wait

Problem with American border security is, once the undocumented enters the US, some Americans wish to give them all the rights and privileges of being American. That and American border security is porous and there are further measures to make it even more porous.

So, all the undocumented has to do is enter the US and it's TOUCHDOWN.

Anytime you have a person (Trump in this case) that is without morals, ethics, principles or humanity you have a situation that will not get resolved until it hurts him personally. He does not care about the people that are suffering (because of his action to close the government) so he will just hunker down since it is "no skin off of his back".

As such, the only solution is that both the Republicans and Democrats have to band together and come up with a veto-proof bill that would end the shut down. I don't believe that they are at that point yet where that will occur but if this shut down goes for another month or two (likely) then some catastrophe will occur (such as a plane crashing against another because air traffic controllers or their equipment failed) and then there will be no other solution. It would be ironic if actually something were to happen so that both parties got together to work for a goal.

I do not see Trump or the Democrats giving in. Trump because he doesn't care about the pain and suffering of his own people and the Democrats because they cannot afford to give in because if Trump wins he would use hostage taking again and again and that would be a disaster for all.

As I have said for over 2+ years. Trump is and will always be the worst President that will have ever lived in the annals of the United States

I think that AOC meant 'Morally Left', but I could be mistaken. Emotion tends to be more important than facts when it comes to growing the power and expense of the federal government. If only AOC could find a way to fund more socialism without the need for having capitalist entities at the tippy top to tax then her plans would be close to perfect.

They are being processed as quickly as the CBP can process them... Unfortunately, the shutdown is exacerbating the backlog in the immigration courts so they are being released into the US to await their immigration hearings. You might remember this mom and her children...

Are they going to invade the country, and kill and rape all of us, like the one that was headed here right before the midterms, but suddenly seemed to drop off the face of the earth on election night? Does it have scary Middle Eastern terrorists like we kept hearing the last one did?

By the way, I missed all of the tragic and terrible stories about what the last caravan did when they arrived here. Of course, you can link to all the murder, mayhem, rapes, terror attacks, etc. that Trump and the Republicans insisted was imminent from that caravan - right up to Election Night, I mean. Which is what socialists are for. Not for what the people want or what's (or who's) best in a situation but, rather, some socialistic 'moral' which they expect everyone else to follow.

Their latest socialistic 'moral' we must all follow is no walls...or is that just Trump resist?

In tandem with numerous other measures to secure the border, yes. At least, make it more difficult to enter. Tell me of the border security measure that is 100% effective by itself.

I don't care about moms being separated from their children and you don't either. BTW, a mom was arrested for drunk driving in my town and the children in the car were remanded over to children's services. What do you think?

How will walls help with the airplanes? I'm not sure you meant to, but you've kind of highlighted why it's important to stop the waste of billions of dollars that could be spent on border control that actually works.

The President is in no hurry.

Nancy has just made our country a laughing stock by locking the President out of the House.

When rank and file Democrats can no longer tolerate the shutdown, they will simply tell that woman to get herself over to the White House and agree to a compromise.


Oh, it will be wonderful to see her taken down a peg or two.

I think there are Dems who want to negotiate and fund the border fencing. The question is whether they'll have the backbone to stand up to Pelosi.

That's what I'm hoping the Dems do. You know who's being held "hostage"? The rank and file dems who have their hands tied by their vindictive Speaker who is using her power to stop negotiations.

I answered your question, members of the caravan that arrived in December are being processed using a metered system and will eventually all be processed. A wall does nothing to prevent them from coming to the US.

Glad nancy could give you a demonstration of how the separation of powers works. Trump the bully thought he would just ignore her uninvitation and walk right into the house chamber anyway and give his pep rally. Wrong. He is not the ruler of american he is our president and should respect the other branches of government.
