Very dangerous games! (1 Viewer)

Frankly, I’m scary of Bush’s administration foreign policy. It’s madness of Rice and Bush! Look at our dealings with India. Efforts of Peace Action, which sponsored a national call-in day to oppose the US-India nuclear deal, have turned out to be insufficient for preventing a Senate vote on it this year. This deal (S.3709) allows our supplies of nuclear materials and technology to India. It has become the first time that the US supports India’s nuclear aspirations since their 1974 nuclear bomb test – which was made by so-called “civilian nuclear technology”. This legislation rewards India’s nuclear ambitions by allowing them to assume the same privileges and practices as the five original nuclear-weapon states without the same international responsibilities and safeguards outlined in the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty.
Thus, it is an act of nuclear proliferation! But how can’t our Senators understand that supporting the expansion of India’s nuclear programs we send a dangerous signal to other countries with nuclear aspirations that can easily spark a nuclear arms race in this unstable region of the world, particularly with India’s nuclear-capable neighbor Pakistan (which before it has been also made free of using its nuclear weapons as US ally)?
Taking into account that previously Israel has tested its weapons at Indian nuclear ranges and now India has arranged for nuclear technology transfer to Saudi Arabia (and all that was held under secret sponsorship of our authorities, of course!) one has an impression the White House is forming a nuclear group of clients (similar to its satellites in Eastern Europe) for supporting Washington’s decisions internationally. This amounts to deliberate action to create a special nuclear group.
Bush and Rice, they mean to press anybody they chose with that nuclear club (China as target comes first to my mind). Now fancy the possible impact if they lose control over their creation. … Very dangerous games!
