If you've made a decision what you think the jury will do, vote now. If not, wait until you've decided. :)

I can't imagine the jury coming back with a verdict tomorrow, so I'll leave the poll up all weekend.

I can, unless there is/are stealth jurors.

If OJ was acquitted, and Zimmerman isn't, what would that say?

If they have actually been paying attention this should be a pretty straight and easy, not guilty.

How I have seen the case and the evidence I don't think it's strong enough to convict him of 2nd degree murder and his claims of self defense appear to be valid in my judgement. I predict an innocent verdict, if I was the jury given the info that I know I would say he is innocent.

There has been zero evidence to the contrary as you said.

The jury will find him guilty of a lesser offense IMO.

My other prediction is that newsrooms around the country are combing the police blotters with a fine toothed comb looking for the next Who The Hell Would Otherwise Really Care case for them to blast into people's living rooms. It is all Murder Porn brought to you by the makers of tampons and GEICO insurance.

Regarding George Zimmerman as I have been saying for a year, its a clear case of self defense. He will be acquitted, but should be sued

My vote is based on my surmise, not my wishes. Pure guesswork, I've never felt that "choosing a side" made much sense in a complex criminal proceeding.

I certainly don't know the whole story and I've had little interest in following the unfolding case. Honestly, I'd rather spend the time cleaning the litter-box.

I'm an officer of the HOA I live in. I own a total of 9 units, 1 for me, one for the ex, 7 for rent. Because we're not gated, and 89119 is a poor zip code with many lower rent apartments (my complex are townhouses built in 1976) and I use my garage as my exit/entry point rather than my front door which is on a minor thoroughfare, I do see some suspicious characters from time to time. If I am facing them, I smile and wave and they just keep going, sometimes responding, sometimes with a contemptuous look. I surely don't follow them and while I have yet to dial 911, that is what I would do if I didn't see them move along.

In my mind, anyone dangerous enough to arouse my suspicions is too dangerous for me to intervene with. The police are far better equipped. If I see the occasional domestic disturbance, I make enough noise in my garage to make the disputers aware that they are not private.

The police are licensed to kill. I am not.

This case shows the inadvisability of playing detective. No matter the outcome, damage has been done. Martin will be dead forever. Zimmerman will be a freak and bankrupt forever (unless he writes a successful book - not something to count on).

Now, my state is very forgiving of the use of force inside your home. The moment someone enters your home, you generally can blow them away without recourse (except bloodstains and holes in your walls). But even that is not guaranteed 100%. I have non-lethal weapons in multiple locations throughout my home. I've only once used one - a very large stun baton - and the guy ran like hell. I never even called the cops because dealing with them is never pleasant, regardless of your rightness or wrongness.

If I saw someone obviously breaking in my home or anyone else's, 911 is the only number I need.

Because of the kerfuffle level of this case, I suspect there will be a conviction and minor sentence. I repeat - I do not wish anything. I'm just responding to the poll.

not guilty or hung. no way 6 people on that jury were impressed with this kangaroo court.

This is still about that Zimmerman case is it not?

Why should he be sued ???

My prediction is that there will be no Verdict. This nightmare will end with a hung jury.

You've seen too many James Bond movies. Police have no "license to kill". They're permitted to kill in defense of their life or the life of another person. The same is true of all citizens.

Agreed.

Hopefully the jury will do what is right.

I wonder if the fact that Z did not testify will matter to the jury. IMO, he gets convicted of manslaughter.

I'm going to add in my own poll choice: I have no idea. Juries can do unexpected things, in spite of the evidence.

Guilty of manslaughter.

I feel Zimmerman's heart was in the right place for the most part. He wanted to protect his neighbors and keep his neighborhood safe. He took it all too far and found himself at the losing end of a fist fight. Instead of accepting the asswhoopin' with grace, he shot Martin.

Murder 2 is too much imo, but manslaughter is the correct verdict.

Someone mentioned earlier that the Jury need not be unanimous to convict, but it
appears that the Supreme Court ruled that for a 6 person jury a finding of guilty
had to be unanimous.

The Supreme Court visited the issue of jury size and unanimity one final time in 1979. In Burch v Louisiana, the Court found Louisiana's law that allowed criminal convictions on 5 to 1 votes by a six-person jury violated the Sixth Amendment right, incorporated through the Fourteenth Amendment, of defendants to a trial by jury. If a jury is to be as small as six, the Court said, the verdict has to be unanimous.

Manslaughter is possible, but I doubt it... so I'm going with acquittal as the most likely, and "hung jury" as the next most likely.

I respectfully disagree on this. The prosecution hasn't shown beyond reasonable doubt that GZ didn't act in reasonable self-defense. The "correct" verdict is not guilty on all charges.
