Hunger eats away at Venezuela’s soul as its people struggle to survive. The Maduro regime denies its once oil-rich country is in crisis. But on the streets the desperation cannot be hidden.
From The Guardian (UK)
The Guardian tells about a 14 year old girl who braves the violence of the streets at night to ply her trade as a prostitute, a job she was forced into after her mother was fired and the family ran out of food.
But as long as the Maduro government remains determined it doesn't matter how miserable everyone is. The regime can still hold onto power, and a great many American leftists have enabled them. I can hear them now. They will say that there are plenty of under aged prostitutes in the streets of American cities, and this story means nothing. Not the suffering of the people, not the overwhelming evidence of malgovernance, nothing will make them acknowledge that Venezuela took the wrong path.
Goddammit you post some real trash, using the suffering of an entire people and worse this time a 14 year old girl who's had to become a prostitute to survive, to make the cheapest of cheapest political points.
It is obvious, to anyone with a working brain that Venezuelas government is a cluster**** that has ****ed up their entire country.
But people like you use it to say, that despite the fact that it works in almost the entire industrialized world, that things like UHC as an example, inevitably lead to Venezuela, or Greece, or North Korea, or whatever blog tells you it is that day.
Ignorance is a powerful weapon. How many Americans really know what the hell is going on in other countries or why their socialist governments collapse? After all, we are talking about a people who can barely remember why we fought the Civil ****ing War.
That was because Iron Man didn't like Captain America's haircut, right?
With the US's history of overthrowing governments in South America, including importing Nazi war criminals to places like Peron's Argentina, for later use in coup attempts in places like Chille and Bolivia, I would not be surprised to see our hands all over this Venezuela situation.

Yeah we get it, you don't care how bad things are, as long as the politics are "the way you support" you'll back them and the government.
Good job dude.
I'm just going to stay out of this one. What in sams **** are you on about?
What in sams **** are you on about?
You defending socialism as is usual despite
You defending socialism as is usual despite evidence to the contrary.
Despite what?
Venezuela is usually brought up to say "Yah see libs, yah see what happens when you want to adopt something that all of the industrialized world except us adopted successfully, YOU WANT TO BECOME JUST LIKE VENEZUELA!".
It's an intellectually repugnant argument that comes up every few weeks at least.
Yeah like you don't say "so you want to live in Somalia" when conservatives talk about smaller govt? hypocrite tears you have

Not really sure where you got that from JBM's post.
What could possibly go wrong?
Definitely not on my bucket list for travel!
