Great decision all around by Trump administration to close a for-profit school. The schools that they were supposedly going to prop up:

According to a Dec. 17 letter issued to students, a U.S. Department of Education decision to restrict the school’s participation in federal financial aid programs stymied plans to sell the St. Louis-based Vatterott Educational Centers Inc.’s for-profit trade schools to a buyer.

The school said that thanks to the change in the rules, they can no longer function

Your article fails to tell us what restrictions were put on the school that is preventing them from remaining open.

Yes it did. I quoted it in the OP!!:

The restrictions on student loans made the company an unattractive purchase so they could not sell it nor make a profit on students with expensive but useless courses as the students needed loans to pay for tuition

Sounds to me like that school has had and still has problems following the rules:

This year, Vatterott schools, including its culinary campuses, were placed on probation, according to the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges. Schools are placed on probation for not being in compliance with accrediting standards.

How much would you like to bet that the DOED regulations in regards to this school was because of Vatterott's history of violating ACCSC's standards? Multiple times as your own article outlines. Perhaps they should have been sticking to the rules and maybe they wouldn't be in this position.

Mind pointing out where in that article, or any other article, where these restrictions on student loans was the cause of this?
