They also seem more afraid of tampons in school bathrooms.Books are much greater danger to this crowd.
The disgust across this nation is growing ever stronger against weird Vance and even weirder Trump as they tell us that the mass killing of our school children is unavoidable and we just have to live with it.
But transgender people using the 'wrong' bathroom has to be legislated against.
Womens control over their own bodies has to be legislated against.
Forced bible study in schools has to be legislated to be mandatory.
Cultural and employment diversity has to legislated against.
Not sure how anyone could possibly vote for these vile excuses of human beings.
This guy's shoulder-shrugging, "shit happens" view of this issue is the same as his approach to every issue. Skin-crawlingly loathsome goons like him create and sustain giant social problems that normal, decent people are expected to put up with, and then they pretend that it's the unchangeable, natural order of the universe rather than a policy choice.
The end result has been. How about any preventative measures?Regardless of your other complaints, I believe mass shootings have already been legislated against. Long ago.
The end result has been. How about any preventative measures?
We would have to know why anyone chooses to deliberately kill other people, and I suspect that there isn't a one size fits all conclusion to be drawn.
Accidents are much easier to prevent or mitigate than deliberately destructive actions.
It IS dismissive of him.He didn't have a "shit happens" attitude. The only shit involved is AP:
"I don’t like that this is a fact of life," Vance said. "But if you are a psycho and you want to make headlines, you realize that our schools are soft targets. And we have got to bolster security at our schools. We’ve got to bolster security, so if a psycho wants to walk through the front door and kill a bunch of children, they’re not able."
While reporting the quote, however, AP appeared to insinuate Vance called school shootings a "fact of life" in a callous or dismissive way.
So what I'm getting from this is that until we learn how to Mind Meld with people who've done shootings then nothing can be done.
Erm, I have a feeling we'll be waiting a while for that then.
So what's your suggestion for stopping people from carrying out deliberate actions?
Maybe don't let anyone have a gun?
You still have murders in your country, despite letting hardly anyone legally have a gun. A higher rate of murder than other countries that allow greater freedom of gun ownership. In fact, an equivalent or even higher rate of murder than some localities in the US that are "awash in guns".
So no, your proposal doesn't seem to be useful. Unless you're more interested in the means than the act itself.
Here’s another hint. We have too manyDo we have murders in schools on a regular basis?
Here's a hint.
No, we don't.

No, we don't.
That doesn't address my post. You don't have anything that does.
Here’s another hint. We have too many
What is your point?
That the UK still has murders?
Yes we do but we don't allow people the means to kill many, many people in a matter of a minute or so.
We also don't need to have schools built like fortresses with metal detectors and panic rooms and have drills about active shooter events.
In the US that's becoming the norm and it's depressing as hell for the fasmilies involved.
Yes, we have crime in the UK but the chances of getting shot are miniscule compared to the US and I'm glad about that.
If school shootings where dozens die isn't enough to start the conversation about gun laws then nothing will.
This debate will still be raging in another 20 years when weapons are even more deadly and the gun fans will still claim they're needed for self defence.
Would they ban a Star Trek style handheld phaser than can delete an entire person from existence at the touch of a button?
If it's because of guns, why is your country's murder rate higher than that of Germany? Why is it equivalent to or higher than the rates in many US localities?
In Star Trek, it's the government forces that have and find uses for those things.
