No need to waste time finding a parking place anymore. Ain't that grand?

It's hard to imagine something less useful than this. If you go somewhere, the question is where you find the space in the first place. If you already have a preassigned space, you're important. So you're near the front door. So, what's wrong with a little sunshine?

And imagine if everybody gets one. You'll have traffic jams of empty cars. :)

Traffic jams of empty cars, that sounds great. No more over-stressed drivers hurling insults at each others. This could save lives.

Properly outfitted with a decent AI, the cars could just have the meetings and you could enjoy your day. Maybe go to the park, Play some pinball. Get a printout of whatever the cars decided (we'll need a better word than cars) the company is going to do.

Progress.

What if 10 cars are trying to park at once?

Reminds me of a story. I was talking to an airline pilot buddy about the TCAS system. The system detects planes being too close together and instructs the pilot (as in very loudly screams at the pilot) as how to maneuver to avoid the collision. I asked him what happens if your plane's TCAS and the other plane's TCAS sends you both in the same direction. He said it was impossible because of the technology. A few months later I read a story where that exact thing happened but the pilots avoided the collision because they could see each other that particular incident and ignored the TCAS commands.

The problem is, when you go to get into your car, how do you know where you parked? Besides, are all the auto-parking cars going to back into spaces like a bunch of idiots?

There would have to be task priorities. Computers do that very well now.

You don't need to know, your car comes back where it lefts you, at the door for instance. I don't know what you mean with your 2nd question so...
