Utah shooting: Teen arrested after 4 killed in Utah home

I think 225 just happened in Hawaii.

2 officers dead in shooting near Hawaii'''s Diamond Head: Officials - ABC News

Yep, appears so.

I wonder if we'll ever come to our senses.

If by "coming to our senses" is meant to suggest "outlawing guns in everyone's hands so that crooks won't have access to them" then that is silly. We do need to find ways to keep bad guys from getting guns but outlawing guns for everyone will never get guns out of the hands of bad guys.

Sensible people know that a Mercator Projector map is a 2-dimensional projection of a 3-dimensional sphere for the purposes of accurate navigation. Likewise, sensible people realize that the major thread through all violent crimes are mentally disturbed people; either temporarily disturbed or permanently disturbed.

The teenage murderer of four just tossed his entire life away. Same for the Hawaiian murderer. Those are not the actions of sane or sensible people.

I doubt the young man in Utah was a "crook." But, once he got a hold of a gun, he certainly turned into a murderer right quick.

No they're not. Do you mean that there's far more violent mental illness in the US than there is in the rest of the West?
Your Mercator analogy doesn't work unless the polar disproportions represent the American disproportionality re. mass killings.

But, the RW argues, how will they protect themselves without their precious guns ?

The left wants-
- open borders with Mexico
- a ban on guns in the USA

Are the cartels going to give up their guns too? They're present in all 50 states.

Let's examine the silliness in your argument

you want us to come "to our senses" without having the guts to actually state what that means

so let us try to delineate what you want people to infer

Hawaii is a Island entity that doesn't have nearby states with gun rights. Hawaii has gun registration, waiting periods etc. YET, they still have this murder that you are trying to use to bait pro gun advocates.

what exactly do you mean about "coming to our senses" when it involves a state that has the laws that you anti gun advocates salivate over?

No. Only him wants that.

so if the penalties for using the gun, in the way he did, did not deter him, what will?

The "bad guys" will always have guns. It's the law abiding citizens who will be sitting ducks. I don't know what the answer is but I do know guns are inanimate objects until they're in the hands of humans. Humans will continue their violence with different methods.
