heres something you wont hear much about in the mainstream media.

and the conservative media should be ashamed for not pushing real issues and deciding rather to focus on John Kerrys comments. The guy is simply IRRELEVANT.

that damned Bush economy.

he should be ashamed.

iriemon,

I stipulate that the government has spent too much, lived beyond its means, and that the national debt is outrageous.

Thank you in advance for not hijacking my thread.

LMAO! damn, beat me to it!

Well ...................what is there to talk about then?:rofl

You Bush-ites love to tell half the story. Why don't you tell the rest. That this administration changed the definition of employed so that if you work even 1 hour a week you are considered "employed". That during the Bush administration higher paying union jobs are being replaced with lower level service industry jobs. That "real wages" have declined severely since Bush took office.
I also love how you guy talk about a "booming" economy but when you look at polls around the country people are working harder and harder to make ends meet and feel that they are losing the battle (But then again, you guys don't believe in polls - unless they are in your favor).

You are right, though, about 1 thing. This is a great economy (for the top 10% of the wealthy in this country).
But....as most Bushites do.....keep repeating the lies and maybe....just maybe....you might get a least a few people to believe you eventually. Nice try though.

A great economy for the wealthy is a great economy for everyone.

Just who do you think provides jobs for those that aren't "wealthy"? Folks look to gain employment at places that are usually owned by folks with money...the "wealthy". I've never heard of anyone going down to their local welfare housing project to try to get a job except perhaps pimps and drug dealers...

Here's an idea...let's tax those greedy rich bastards for all they have that flaunts their wealth...high dollar cars, yachts, multi-million dollar houses...YEAH!...that's the ticket!!!

Ooops...I forgot...it's already been tried...by that economic genius, Jimmy Carter.

That idiots "luxury tax" put tens of thousands of people out of work...the people who built those luxury items, that quit selling with his stupid tax. Not to mention his 22 per cent prime rate...

Yep...keep bashing the rich that provide you with a job...

please post a link with proof that unemployment is calculated differently today than it was during the Clinton administration.

also post proof it was Bush that caused the change.

thanks in advance.

well, I had an idea thats what you would post. and dont get me wrong, we mostly agree.

where we part ways is the best way to fix it.

I have never once argued with anyone about the administrations spending. I just argue the best place to cut that spending.

that damned Bush economy.

he should be ashamed.

I heard this story on NPR, CBS and ABC.

Anyway - a person who works one hour a week is employed according to the way the gov. counts things now. Total BS

Ask the average Joe how they feel about the economy.

Remember this?

Last Friday when promoting social security reform with 'regular' citizens in Omaha, Nebraska, President Bush walked into an awkward unscripted moment in which he stated that carrying three jobs at a time is 'uniquely American.'

While talking with audience participants, the president met Mary Mornin, a woman in her late fifties who told the president she was a divorced mother of three, including a 'mentally challenged' son.

The President comforted Mornin on the security of social security stating that 'the promises made will be kept by the government.'

But without prompting Mornin began to elaborate on her life circumstances.

Begin transcript:

MS. MORNIN: That's good, because I work three jobs and I feel like I contribute.

THE PRESIDENT: You work three jobs?

MS. MORNIN: Three jobs, yes.

THE PRESIDENT: Uniquely American, isn't it? I mean, that is fantastic that you're doing that. (Applause.) Get any sleep? (Laughter.)

Yeah, that's hilarious.

I heard this story on NPR, CBS and ABC.

how many times did you hear about Mike Fox, Rush Limbaugh, or John Kerry compared to the number of times you heard about the economy?

I heard the economy mentioned on my car radio ONE TIME friday.....I cant tell you how many times I heard the other stuff.

Anyway - a person who works one hour a week is employed according to the way the gov. counts things now. Total BS

when did this change? who changed it? link please.

Ask the average Joe how they feel about the economy.

I am the average joe.

like I said, its unfortunate the cons arent pressing this issue. the economy is great. we should be focussing on real issues instead of Michael J Fox.

:rofl
A few years ago, the Democrats' Battle Cry was 'Its the Economy, Stupid!'
* Note the wording - John Kerry must have written this himself, as he seems to find just about everyone but him 'stupid'!

Now, suddenly it isn't about the economy anymore. The un-employment rate is down, and all kinds of other horrible things ar happening.
Note that the only good news for Democrats seems to always be bad news for the country!

I wonder, if THIS Democratic Party and Liberal media we are plagued with today would have existed during WW2 if we would have ever won or would all of Europe be speaking German?!

The libs would have 1st complained by maing up some story about how we should mind our own business with Germany because they had not attacked us yet - '$crew the allies' would probably have followed.

When the debt/cost of the war began to rise, they would have said it was too high and demanded we stop our participation in the war.

D-Day would have been all over the news, and the Democrats would have attacked our nation's resolve by demanding that the tremendous # of wounded on D-day and during the Battle for Iwo Jima were too high, insisting that we cut-n-run! (ASince Each of those 2 battle alone produced more deaths and casualties seperately than all of Iraq so far!)

CNN would be showing footage of the holocaust, showing how the Nazis were experiemtnting on and killing the Jews as well as how they were killing our soldiers.....for their political agenda and to raise their ratings!

Kerry would be telling the media how stupid our troops are, and he and Murtha would have been comparing us to Hitler's boys...but NOT Pol Pot regeimists yet since they weren't around yet! Of course, Kerry would be flying to Switzerland to meet with Gering and Hitler to discuss terms of the US's surrender.

The NYT would be printing stories of how the U.S. had created a nuclear weapon that they planned to drop on Japan, carried by a plane called the Enola Gay, followed by the exact date, time, and flight route of the mission...then claim Freedom of Speech allowed them to compromise the mission.

Sandy Berger would be steakling and shredding every copy of 'Mein Kaumf' he could stuff down his pants!

Bill Clinton would still have been selling the Chinese military missile technology for campaign contributions.

Dean would be saying 'there is NO WAR on Fascism' - its all a GOP ploy to frighten voters.

____________________________________________________

Another thought shot it -

I know Kerry has made a living bashing the military and started, continues his career as an Anti-war candidate......

I would love to see him take his act to some place like North Korea, bash their troops, make jokes about Kim Jong Il....and just see how many SECONDS he would live after doing so!

I think such an experience would do incredible wonders for helping him and others appreciate what the military does/has done through great personal sacrifice!

Right. And until then, you're position (along with the rest of the pass the buck generation) is just keep on borrowing.

That is where we disagree.

Are these jobs working more than one hour at a Fast food restaurant (McDonalds, Wendy, etc.), convience-gas stores, retail store such as Walmart and Target or we talking about real jobs that can support a Family with included insurance benefits??????????

Show thgis to be true.
Show how it differes from previous definitions.

That during the Bush administration higher paying union jobs are being replaced with lower level service industry jobs.
This is what happens when your ecomony moves out of the late 19th/early 20th century.

Now, tell me why "high paying union jobs" are sacrosanct and service industry jobs don't count.

That "real wages" have declined severely since Bush took office.
Proof?

Got any more DNC talking points to throw at us?
When you stop reading their website, does your mouth stop moving?

But....as most Bushites do.....keep repeating the lies and maybe....just maybe....you might get a least a few people to believe you eventually. Nice try though.
This is how liberals remained in power for so long, and how they hope to regain it.

an outright lie.

my position is to cut spending.

I will say it one more time.....

my position is to cut spending

now that will be my very last response to you in this thread, on that issue. Please do not attempt to hi jack my thread by claiming someone wants something they do not want.

Th spending really ticks me off, but in all fairness to the Rep. party, after 40 years of Democratic spending, they finally caved, and are spending on the things their constiuents want. The Dems have been out of control for decades, and for them to complain too much today, well..........

That said, these numbers are a good sign, no matter how you try and spin it, the majority of job creation comes from folks who vote Republican, and these tax cuts are working.

But no we have bills to pay, so I guess it's time to raid my cookie jar now:doh
