Whenever Obama called for a new world order, the CTs were out in force calling him the biblical anti-christ. Let's see the MAGA cult defend this one:

The State Department expressed support Saturday for an opposition party's bid to replace Nicolás Maduro as Venezuela's leader, declaring Maduro's government illegitimate.

I don't want to give CTers any legitimacy here but just to play devils advocate....

Is the US going to intervene militarily? Or was this just an expression of support for the replacement of Maduro via Venezuela's Constitutional Law? IE: Impeachment or whatever it is that they do there. Because there is a difference.

Maduro is one of the true bad guys in our hemisphere and calling him out is the very least we should do.

That was my concern, as well. Presidents with less ability...Obama, Bush, etc...would move...and have moved...to military action. Trump, as we've seen in the last two years, is more inclined to economic and diplomatic pressure. In fact, Palladino says that's what the US will be doing:

“The United States government will continue to use the full weight of U.S. economic and diplomatic power to press for the restoration of democracy in Venezuela,” he added.

I don't see military intervention as being Trump's style.

Yeah, me either. I don't think he's going to be laughing about, "We came. We saw. He died".

Maybe you could provide us with examples of conservatives in general calling Obama the anti-Christ over his foreign policy agenda. I don't recall that ever happening.

Also, is the State Department merely speaking out against bad governance in foreign countries now impermissible? Is this because you and your ilk support Maduro?

NEWS UPDATE:

I have just read on the Web that 12 Latin-American countries plus Canada will NOT recognize Mr. Maduro as the president of Venezuela when he is inaugurated next week for his second term.

Maybe the United States of America should follow suit.
