I'm surprise but eventually there would come a judge who pushes the firearm laws like some do other MAGA causes. Judge shopping in Texas is a tradition. It will be interesting to see if this 'logic' holds up...(Reuters) - A federal judge has dismissed charges against a Kansas man for possessing a machine gun, saying prosecutors failed to establish that a federal ban on owning such weapons is constitutional.
The decision by U.S. District Judge John Broomes in Wichita on Wednesday appeared to mark the first time a court has held that banning machine guns is unconstitutional after the conservative-majority U.S. Supreme Court in 2022 issued a landmark ruling that expanded gun rights.
I honestly didn't see that one coming...
Surrender, now that was an option I didn't see coming from you unless you really want every knucklehead running around on full auto....Gang bangers with glocks equipped with switches have become epidemic and nobody seems to care anymore. You might as well fully legalize machine guns.
A judge that doesn't see 80 years of precedent as a reason? WTF is with these guys?(Reuters) - A federal judge has dismissed charges against a Kansas man for possessing a machine gun, saying prosecutors failed to establish that a federal ban on owning such weapons is constitutional.

Because I am a part of the human race, any man's death diminishes me. However, had that shot missed an inch the other way, the pumpkin would have vaporized on national TV. I can't help but believe gun control would be moving ahead. And if he had died from covid, how many more thousands of Americans would be alive? Our partisan SCOTUS insists there are no limits to firearms.
They also say, to placate people temporarily, that they CAN impose some limits, based on according to them, nothing.
Limited by? According to them, nothing.
Can be undone with another ruling trivially? Sure, because precedent means nothing to them, even though they claim it does when it suits them.
Federalist society sophists, here to push their agenda and not put the Constitution first...
Our SCOTUS has been corrupted, and now it would take an amendment to get firearms under control.
Until then, thoughts and prayers.
Someone tried to shoot Trump with an AR-15, no one seemed to care. I mean, wow.
Secret Service? Too many guns, we're tired boss, accidents are gonna happen.
Let's put everyone in a ballistic bubble like Trump is now...I mean, send your kids to school in a hamster ball.
All because they REFUSE sensible gun laws.

Well, soon we'll find out what that means....even more than bumpstocks.(Reuters) - A federal judge has dismissed charges against a Kansas man for possessing a machine gun, saying prosecutors failed to establish that a federal ban on owning such weapons is constitutional.

I don't see anywhere in the Constitution where carrying machine guns is banned. Not that I like the idea of people being able to do so.
Two things.(Reuters) - A federal judge has dismissed charges against a Kansas man for possessing a machine gun, saying prosecutors failed to establish that a federal ban on owning such weapons is constitutional.

Two things.
1. The opposition apparently didn't make their case.
2. The 2nd amendment supports gun ownership and doesn't list any restrictions. So to get a restriction the case would have to be well defined and if this owner has not previous gun law issues, that case against him and the 2nd would be difficult.
Why?
What a cluster****!
Doesn't limit it either.The 2nd Amendment doesn't define what an armament is/was.
Doesn't need to. It's weapons and supplies if war. Ever hear of a dictionary? The 2nd Amendment doesn't define what an armament is/was.
The government has never been your friend I don't know why people think that it is.

And hoorays for the 2nd Amendment, which rightly reigns supreme! Our SCOTUS has been corrupted, and now it would take an amendment to get firearms under control.
Until then, thoughts and prayers.

Yeah the government likes to take credit for what private contractors do all the time. They can't provide you with anything because they have no money your neighbor's provided that at exorbitant cost because a bunch of neersowell bureaucrats need to skim off the top.My clean water, solid waste disposal, sewer system, transportation infrastructure, constabulary, system for adjudicating disputes, contract enforcement, social safety net, food safety, and the complete lack of roving bands of rapist cannibals say otherwise.
Private enterprise, on the other hand …

Thinking the parasites are your friend is part of what parasites do. Municipal utility districts seem to function just fine without having to pay pensions to bureaucrats.
Public schools are the governments way of indoctrinating you into believing you need them.
Rent seeking? Not sure I've heard of such a thing but okayRent seeking scum are the biggest parasitic cohort in our system.
Subtracted.Government is value added.
No the fat own them. To the point they'll deny people the ability to elect their property. The only “skim” is from the fat,
And voting for their property. The government. You are their slaves. Tricking you into believing you need them is the scam.worthless capital class sitting around with their trophy wives and cabana boys doing drugs and laughing at all the simps caping for them on the Internet.
Rent seeking? Not sure I've heard of such a thing but okay
Never heard of that. I know people offer things for rent but they don't really need to seek it out. Typically things available for rent are things people want.Wow.
