US intelligence chief contradicts Trump on ISIS defeat

Washington (CNN)Despite repeated claims by the Trump administration that ISIS has been defeated, US intelligence assesses that the terror group "very likely will continue to pursue external attacks from Iraq and Syria against regional and Western adversaries, including the United States."

The Worldwide Threat Assessment, released by Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats Tuesday, also states that with the recent loss of territory, "ISIS will seek to exploit Sunni grievances, societal instability, and stretched security forces to regain territory in Iraq and Syria in the long term."

Coats told members of the Senate Intelligence Committee Tuesday that ISIS "has returned to its guerrilla warfare roots while continuing to plot attacks and direct its supporters worldwide."

But he also clearly stated that the group maintains a presence in Iraq and Syria.

COMMENT:-

It appears that Mr. Coats has just maxed out his pension entitlement.

Time for someone who is "dumb as a rock" (wanna bet) to be tossed out of the swamp. Besides, he wasn't Mr. Trump's first pick for the job.

It's time to ignore what the so-called "experts" say and go with your gut. Right?

Hey, let's stretch the security forces even further. What can go wrong?

We appreciate the disclaimer.

Strangely enough, the same story is on FOX News.

Talk about "conflicted", eh?

I mean here is a story that is BOTH 100% true and 100% false at the same time.

PS - When I do my early morning news scan, I go through 29 media sources from around the world. Some days I go through them from top to bottom (in which case, if a story appears on both CNN and FOX) I will see the story on CNN first (and likely link to that one). Other days I go through them from Bottom to top (in which case, if a story appears on both CNN and FOX) I will see the story on FOX first (and likely link to that one). I guess that the means that if a story appears on both CNN and FOX it is always false if I go through the alphabet from A to Z and it is always true if I go through the alphabet from Z to A.

We appreciate the disclaimer.

Anyone who watches or reads the news knows that Trump was contradicted by all three intelligence chiefs in the hearing yesterday and that today Trump, who relies on burps sent up by his gut for his intelligence, insulted the chiefs for their testimony.

I really have to wonder what has to so profoundly damage someone to cause them to compulsively claim they are the best at every single ****ing thing that comes up.

It seems like it's so far outside the normal spectrum of narcissism. He's so damn in love with his vile self that it does not ever enter his mind that it would simply be impossible for one human being to be the best at all things human beings do.
