isn't that LITERALLY what a sanctuary city does and is ?

how is the EPA any different? we live in a country that has a political party that encourages people to do illegal things (cross into the USA illegally and stay/live/work here illegally) .......... why do they get to pick and choose what "illegal" should and shouldn't be? if its best for the EPA or an illegal immigrant or a sanctuary city ... then self justification of breaking the laws is ok

In general, it refers to a policy that limits or defines the extent to which a local/state government will share information with federal immigration law ...

A sanctuary city is a municipality that limits or denies its cooperation with the national government in enforcing immigration law.
 

They cannot stop enforcing laws they have no authority to enforce to begin with.

If it makes you feel any better, they aren’t enforcing federal environmental laws either.

Sounds like you must be annoyed with Trump directing ICE not to enforce deportation laws in hotels and restaurants as well as farms and meat packing plants. Guess those are now sanctuary jobs.

Why do you think he decided to protect millions and millions from deportation? The numbers who work in these particular industries is huge.

Not remotely a surprise. This is a conservative desire, period. Now they have an administration that will do so.

This is a key reason I dont vote Republican anymore...they put profit over the planet. They dont care if we leave a toilet for future generations.

When some posters have whined "what did TACO do to you?" first time around, this was always at the top of my list...and it never even registers with them.

They don't help but they don't interfere either. Apprehending illegals is a federal responsibility . It's not the responsibility of municipalities who are not funded for such activities. That like asking the feds to help with speeding tickets.

They refuse to honor ICE holds when an illegal is arrested for a local crime.
Sometimes, when the illegal is let out, they commit more crimes.

Somebody needs to be held criminally or at least civilly liable for that.
 
I bet the class makeup of each group has a lot to do with that overfocus.
