The old joke is that any good prosecutor could get a jury to indict a ham sandwich. Do you know how badly you have to be overcharging something for a grand jury to reject charges three times in a row? What an embarrassment.

Prosecutors couldn’t even convince a grand jury to indict a guy who threw a ham sandwich. A thoroughly embarrassing and well-deserved defeat given that the administration rolled out his arrest like they had just captured El Chapo.

The DOJ historically has prided itself on their high conviction rates. That is because they were professionals who would decline to pursue an indictment or a prosecution if there was not a high likelihood of conviction.

Today, the DOJ has been reduced to a parody of its former self. They serve to generate headlines for Donald Trump, nothing more.

Remember, back in Trump's first term when he told the DOJ officials to "Just say the election was corrupt and leave the rest to us,"? Those folks refused Trump's demand. Well, those folks are all gone now and we cannot trust anything that comes out of today's DOJ.
