US approaches a One Party Totalitarian Dictatorship

How Close is the US to a One-Party Totalitarian Dictatorship?

  • Very near

I responded nowhere near but I will add that we are in danger of it. If the Republicans gain enough power it will be there shortly. If the Republican party keeps dying we will be there as well.
So what you seem to suggest is that we need both parties in order to achieve balance in this delicate democracy.

None of those possible scenarios you mention will lead to "a One Party Totalitarian Dictatorship".
Of course not.

We'll just all he free to live as y'all say or else.

Same old talk radio conservative definition of "freedom"

I love seeing the stupidity of Right Wingers.

Actually, five of the nine judges are stolen, being that they were appointed by Republican presidents that could not even come close to winning the popular vote.

The three Trump appointees are definitely illegitimate. We may as well call them Putin's judges.
:ROFLMAO:

The irony of these two posts is the funniest thing I've read all day. It's also the dumbest thing I've read all day. Congrats.

No, we need no parties in our government. The US Constitution never mentions our anti-constitutional two-party system.

If we want to end the corruption that factions bring, then remove the virus called political parties from our government. Political parties would still exist just not in the government. Let them lobby like everyone else.

No one expected you to get it.

Senator Manchin will not support addressing the Supeme court.
So like the $3.5 trillion Biden wants it's
going no where fast.
Thanks Senator Manchin.
I think the funny thing is that Manchin believes this will help him get reelected (2024). WV needs the 2nd infrastructure bill more than any state in the nation.

And you probably think term limits will become a reality, too.

Carroll Quigley quotes Showing 1-29 of 29 “The argument that the two parties should represent opposed ideals and policies... is a foolish idea. Instead, the two parties should be almost identical, so that the American people can throw the rascals out at any election without leading to any profound or extensive shifts in policy.

----------------------------------------

We've had only a single political party for 50 years now - The Establishment Party.

Some Republicans are still patriotic and try to vote for the Constitution.

All Democrats are bought and paid for by the monied Elite.

There is precedence in other nations when the legislative body, the courts and the leadership are all in one party and in control will try to consolidate that control to create a party that cannot be defeated in any constitutional contest. So, to say that “it can’t happen here” (look up and read the book of the same title) is naive and/or dishonest.

Americans normally have controls in place to prevent this kind of thing. Even with tools like gerrymandering, there are ways to challenge things like that in a legal and constitutional fashion.

Until recently.

Look, when one party is in power, they want their party to retain it. GOP or Dems or whomever else. But there is a legal and constitutional way to do that which involves the people of the nation and a fair court to regulate the legality of it.

The concern over the right stems from the right’s willingness to change the law by any means possible, fair or foul, to gain back and keep control which involves making it harder for legal, American citizens of a race and of certain politics to vote as they cannot muster on their own the necessary votes to win.

We have a court with a least one justice of questionable morals and ability and another who is starting to show a loyalty to a person and not their oath or nation…who are starting to make decisions based on that person they are loyal to. They don’t always, but more often than not, do.

We have Trump and his media machine lying to the people about the election and just about damn near everything else. And everyday, more and more of the GOP act in accordance to his wishes and are slowly abandoning the core elements of conservatism and have certainly put America. Second to Trump. A man who admires dictators.

And there are those elements of the right, who at first glance say, “oh, they’re just radicals” when in fact they are a growing roil of folks who have already stormed the Capitol to change the outcome of a legal election because their guy lost. It wasn’t about America, it was about putting a guy back into power because he represented what they believe in: greed, racism, fear and control over non-whites.

Democrats are no saints…but you can’t say they’ve been pursuing power like this since the Dixiecrats left the party…

Oh, really?
Which party insulted and threatened the Supreme Court because they feared that SCOTUS wouldn't rule the way they wanted them to? The Democrats.
Which party is trying to do away with the constitutionally mandated Electoral College? The Democrats.
Which party is doing everything they can to compromise election security? The Democrats.
Which party spent millions of dollars in fruitless effort to prove that the 2016 election was compromised while yelling their baseless accusations about "Russian interference" 24/7 for two solid years, yet has made the even discussing the possibility that the 2020 election was compromised a forbidden topic? The Democrats.

Democrats are, in fact, outright fascists - and worse. All of them.

At least in the Republican Party there is a percentage element that is truly committed to liberty and to limiting government.

The expansion of government untethered from a Constitution is the greatest threat to We The People face, and it is the foundational platform of the Democratic Party.

I'm a libertarian (small 'l'), and there is nothing I can work with the Democrats on, even though we may hold some similar positions.

I want to see Manchin and Sinema be the saviors of this country along with Moderate House DEMs who refuse to pass a $3.5 trillion socialist bill which cannot be paid for.
350 billion a year. Weren't we spending more than that a year in Afghanistan?

And you probably think term limits will become a reality, too.
I do not think that my assertions about political parties will come to realization in my lifetime. I also doubt that term limits would go anywhere either. There will not be any real advance with our two parties screwing it up.

Political parties fighting for power and influence will always screw things up.
It is the nature of politics.

I don't have my calculator handy. But I imagine you could research that easily.

But I would imagine surrendering Afghanistan was part of Biden's plan to get more money for social programs.

You're right that WV needs infrastructure.
But I hope he does not cave in to the Progressives who want to hold the infrastructure bill hostage until they get the $3.5 trillion bill full of social programs for which we cannot afford.

I suspect that Manchin speaks for other democrat senators who oppose this insane spending bill but dont dare say so for fear of being primaried.

Poll question

Keep in mind, we have a 6-3 Right Wing Supreme Court. We have Right Wing state legislatures in a vast majority of states. In 2022, we may very well have a Right Wing House and Senate, one that is growing ever more extreme in both fealty and zeal. And, in 2024, they may be able to shoe-in another Trump, a charismatic cult leader.
this is the new talking point on white wing radio, huh?
lol

RIGHT WING WHITE PEOPLE use more social programs than anyone in America. and white business use up more federal and state contract money than any other ethnicity, and many fleece it with change orders, and cost overruns... and that has been a reality for decades upon decades. Go to any city, state of federal office that take application for federal contracts and grants, and you will find it predominantly filled with white people.

Many jobs many people work are supported by "government contracts and government grants" and still they fleece the government when it comes time to pay taxes.

Every program that exist has a long list of white people in the semi-professional to professional level, who count a big % of their income from grant based programs.

even long ago with the Milk, Flour, Corn Meal, Beans, and Cheese programs were supplied by "white people" who made vast fortunes from those, and many recipient landlords who get profits via Section 8 are white people, and some own slum lord properties. The same was true for massive Federal supported Projects were owned by white men or groups of white men.

Society needs to cut the bullshit and face the reality of truths. Cut any of that funding and white people will be crying louder than any other group on the planet, because one thing is for sure, white people start screaming when money comes out of their pocket.

No one can find any areas where government contracts exist that its not dominated by white people pursuing those contracts as well as grants, and tax concessions.

That's the reality that most white people don't want to face and damn sure does not want focus to truly expose.

Many Hospitals who claim the provide service to the poor, to get Non Profit Status, do nothing but fleece the insurance and patients who have means, with over priced medications and exaggerated pricing on services... and they have gotten away with it for decades.

On thing has always been true in America... when it comes to "money" history has shown "what white people will do", by the examples of slavery, and segregation which both were inhumane, but they did not care... they only cared about "getting the profit by any means".

For over 300+ yrs, there were no large number of black criminals, because black people were enslaved, but every kind of crime imaginable, was being done by white people all doing those 300+ yrs, and has never ceased to be done.

So all these people crying and whining about Social Programs... is nothing but the same bigoted spin meant to take the focus off of how much white people get and use up federal funds resources. heck, Trump's daddy fleeced the government when they contracted with him to build government housing, he diverted money and used it to build properties he claimed as his own.

They get away with it, because the government uses private business to complete the works the government wants done. The good thing is, the better computer systems get, the more of these people will get caught!!!
The digital age will continue to expose more and more an the more it exposes, the more right winger will try and deny the truths that are revealed... but they can't make the facts go away. They can't hide it like they did during all the "good o'le boys network days" because the computers can tract "anything and everything"... The sooner the computers do more, and get more sophisticated, the more it can expose and catch.

None of what I've written is new.. its been going on for decades, upon decades, upon decades.
The Fed's are now making the contractors pay people a higher minimum wage, instead of working people for less than they can live on, while the contractor and companies keep the lions share of the contract funds for themselves.

Go watch people, the minute they get a government contract they, upgrade to a more expensive home, more expensive car and more expensive lifestyle.

We can't get a high speed rail, because the government know people will fleece it for the land, and contract work to get it done. That's why it should be done by the Civil Corp of Engineers and then lease the usage to private rail carriers, and they pay the government for the usage of the high speed rail system. People in white owned business and industry have fleeced the government for well over $100+ Trillion just in the past 40+ yrs. It's why we have so many unfunded projects still on the books.
Democrats will use technology and crack down on it.... because Republican NEVER will.... because white people created the system of how to fleece these contracts for 100+ yrs.

Federal Contractor Misconduct Database (FCMD)

Here we have people whining and crying about 3.5 Trillion to fix our many forms of infrastructure.... That's the; level of willful insidiousness of the general right wing society.

The general public should be thankful that Biden is finally willing and focused on investing in America and American Society.... Get real people, wake the heck up.

Want to know which party wants a dictatorship? Which one wants to make it hardest to vote and make the most votes not count?
Which one produces fake ballots and alters votes while the election is happening.
