US approaches a One Party Totalitarian Dictatorship

How Close is the US to a One-Party Totalitarian Dictatorship?

  • Nowhere near

    Votes: 35 60.3%
  • Very near

    Votes: 23 39.7%

  • Total voters
    58
yeah, this I know and there is zero hope to get him replaced...so, we need to figure out something else....and quickly.
It would help if more people got off their apathetic lazy butts and voted, like maybe three times as many people.

A neat trick is to pose with a gun and thereby convince the rubes that you are one of them even as you are super elite. I love seeing the stupidity of Right Wingers. It's an amazing thing to see them goosestep off the cliff.
Makes you think a bit.... Where in the world do politicians look to win votes/support by posing with a gun?? Communist/Marxist dictatorships, African war zones, and the USA.

Well what you Call The Right Wing is far more inclined to FOLLOW THE US CONSITUTION that the Left !
And "IF" we were to follow the Constitution More we would be farther from a Totalitarian State !

Now if you ask yourself:
"Why when Clinton, Bush, or Obama were in Office many of the Fascist / Totalitarian things did not end with these
"Different" Parties in control (Remember Obama had a SUPER MAJORITY) "

Things like DHS, the NSA Spying Program, Policing the world, Knowingly letting illegals in to America, Increasing the US Debt to levels above the Great Depression and still trying to go Full Throttle !

I see it as the Swamp/Status Quo who really run our Government, run both the DNC & GOP !
That's why both Parties hate Trump (He's not in that club) .

I want to see Manchin and Sinema be the saviors of this country along with Moderate House DEMs who refuse to pass a $3.5 trillion socialist bill which cannot be paid for.

Want to know which party wants a dictatorship? Which one wants to make it hardest to vote and make the most votes not count?
Is that a trick question? How about the state which produced a Progressive president that has more stringent voting laws than TX or GA? Answer: Delaware.

The problem is more one of minority rule. Republican voters are very spread out, while Democratic voters are concentrated. Our system of government combined with gerrymandering favors the party whose voters are spread out, even if their voters are less numerous.

There are a lot of faults in the Democratic party and in the American left these days, but they are unfortunately eclipsed by the fact that we have a party in this country that is perfectly content with ruling with a lack of support from the majority of Americans. You know why there will never be a Democratic version of Trump? It's because the Democrats cannot win without a majority of Americans supporting them.
You wrote: "It's because the Democrats cannot win without a majority of Americans supporting them."

The Dems cannot win without millions of city people expecting their Democratic leaders to continue their Progressive policies. City voters are beholden to their Progressive Dems leaders like unions and people of color are. Simply look at how they vote.

All it took in CA was the fear of a very loud and proud black Conservative political pundit who was going to upset many apple carts in that failing state.
I want to see a loud, proud, Conservative GOP presidential candidate who has charisma but not a huge ego that turns off so many voters. And that is not Trump.

There is no chance of a one party state: the Dems are too uncoordinated and the Pubs are too stupid.

Unions are not very strong at all anymore. If you look at zip codes, basically any zip code of 900 or more people per sq mile votes Democrat.

Poll question

Keep in mind, we have a 6-3 Right Wing Supreme Court. We have Right Wing state legislatures in a vast majority of states. In 2022, we may very well have a Right Wing House and Senate, one that is growing ever more extreme in both fealty and zeal. And, in 2024, they may be able to shoe-in another Trump, a charismatic cult leader.

All the more reason you should want the Federal government interfering in state and local matters as little as possible. I guess Democrats really screwed that up.

and which ones is sending a letter to Georgia to decertify an election, when they know that there is no reason to decertify it...

Elder?bawhaha

of course lefties loved the FDR court that completely ignored over 100 years of precedent and the tenth amendment.
FDR provided you that social security check and Medicare you receive....you should be grateful that he was a visionary.

that's really stupid as usual. I don't have medicare and I have yet to get social security-two things I paid into. I would have much rather not have had the money taken from me since my investment strategies make me far more than the government ponzi schemes.

Even if Republicans control all that, increase their control, and win the presidency in 2024, it still wouldn't be a totalitarian dictatorship, let alone a single-party one.

I agree with what you wrote. There are people who know how to invest wisely.

However, there are millions of Americans who are not motivated or disciplined enough to invest their money wisely. That's why we have Social Security.
Think about the millions of people who line up at the 7-11 stores to buy lottery tickets when the lottery prize gets to hundreds of millions of dollars. They really they can be the lucky ones. What would they do with that money that was not put into a SS fund every payday? Hide it under a mattress?

which is why people should be allowed to opt out of the federal ponzi schemes.

Brilliant Biden has a solution for auto unions. Buyers of electric vehicles will get an extra $4500 rebate if they buy an EV from a company that has union auto workers.
Pretty clever, huh? No wonder unions typically vote Democrat.

which is why people should be allowed to opt out of the federal ponzi schemes.

Sixteen years ago Bush tried to promote and support a bill to allow Social Security recipients to decide how to invest some of their money put into SS.
That effort failed.
Democrats can't have ordinary people playing with money they can use to fund their own projects.

But the dirty secret about SS money is this:
"the money you’ve been contributing to Social Security all these years really isn’t there. No, there’s not really any cash in the Social Security Trust Fund. There are only government IOUs, left after various administrations swiped the cash so that they could reduce Federal budget deficits or – more recently – pretend there is actually a surplus."

Yeah cool story bro.

Delaware is not perfect but is far less restrictive than the states you mentioned:

Delaware also is one of the states this year to expand voting rights, whereas red states have attempted to restrict them

But, so much winning right?

Let's continue to make people of color the victims of the nasty GOP that wants to keep people from voting. You never go wrong by saying Republicans don't want people of color to vote. Used to be the Democrats wanted to restrict people of color from voting over 150 years ago and well into the 1970s. Now the Dems have people of color locked into their social programs and count on over 80 percent of their votes. How times have changed.

So just to be clear was it a really long time ago that the Democrats wanted fewer people voting? Got it.

And now, as I demonstrated with relevant sources, it’s the republicans who want fewer people to vote. So it looks like we can no longer blame Delaware or some other silly talking point probably picked up from FOX.

Let’s go back to what I said earlier. If authoritarianism is what people fear, then they should fear the party trying to restrict voting.

What is supposedly concern about the right installing a one party totalitarian dictatorship is in fact a frustrated sour grapes rant that the divisions of power and different styles of elections deliberately built into the Constitution to prevent a one party tyranny are working.

Nothing is worse than the GOP stealing two seats in four years. Actually, five of the nine judges are stolen, being that they were appointed by Republican presidents that could not even come close to winning the popular vote.

The three Trump appointees are definitely illegitimate. We may as well call them Putin's judges.
Right now we have a Democratic administration, a Democratic House, a split Senate and a conservative Supreme Court. The Democrats are working furiously to eliminate the Electoral College, pack the Supreme Court and do away with any shred of election integrity, so they can become a one party tyranny.

I can see why you might be sore about the Garland nomination. What fantasy have you cooked up as the other Supreme Court nomination that the GOP "stole"?

I responded nowhere near but I will add that we are in danger of it. If the Republicans gain enough power it will be there shortly. If the Republican party keeps dying we will be there as well.
