No, ****. I mean, they're lame by Canadian standards. If they're so narccicistic that they need a national identity, let 'em have one and starve.

LIKEWISE MY GOOD FRIEND. I truly beleive the Britts are one of our closest allies and friends amongst this awful world. I also wish you guys much prosperity and life. We must stick together against tyranny and the mental disorders(aka liberals) of the world. "God save the Britts." Who gives a flying fvck about the queen.

And it's interesting because throughout the early days of our country and most of the 19th century, France was considered one of our number one allies and England was detested. Boy, how times change.

Exactly, if you are lame by canadian standards then you are just plain lame period.

Yes it is interesting. But I do sincerely beleive people can change for the better if the will is there. If there is a will there is a way. France can regain that truce but they need to change vehemently. France needs to stop being so prideful and stop being ignorant and they need to stop their dole system becasue its kiling them.

lol It would never happen, unless the US invaded the UK by force.

The US and the UK actually doesn't have has much in common as most people think, other than language - that is really the only common thing we have.

The UK complain about their National Healthcare Service all the time, but under the US the UK would have to give up free healthcare - the British would be flaming with that. The UK is more socialist than the US, the UK's economy is more socialist. Joining the US would mean even worse primary and secondary schools (universities would improve, but lots in the UK couldn't afford to attend them). Our economy is so tied onto the EU and the free trade tariffs, that if the UK would break away the economy would be creatly damaged.

The Democrats might be happy however, imagine how many electorial seats a 60 million populated state would have. And the UK would almost always vote Democrat. But lots of British would get bored with the two party system and the UK style of politics is different than the US (the UK doesn't have savage attacks on commericials during election time and we're able to shout "wanker" in our House of Commons at the opposition.)

I like Americans, but a 51st state? Worst idea ever!

And why is this under history? I'm moving it to political platforms.

It is meant in comparison with other countries of the world. Obviously Britain and the US would never join into one country, but they are, however, close allies.

I already consider the UK to be the Fifty First state, however, do we have to let those damn Canadians and New Zealanders into the mix? I would rather see Poland come in seeing as they are part of the coalition of the willing and know how to show some gratitude for all the good the U.S. has done for Europe and the world.

Just out of curiousity why the uk and not the new zealanders or canadians? Letting the uk in would help the democrats into power anyhow so i doubt you would want that:2razz:

I don't think this is true when there are, in fact, many conservatives in England that would actually vote REPUBLICAN. I was in London last December and I spoke to an executive who works in the British Insurance Industry and he commented on how lousy the universal healthcare system and how he thought it was very ineffective. I doubt if people like him would come over here and vote Democratic.

What are you talking about? Guam and Peurto Rico have the options of becoming states which would give us 52 states. They both qualify to be a states its up to them.

England? Doubtful, it's only about the size of Pennsylvania (not that it ever would become a state, aside from some great unforeseeable event).

So, Rhode Island and Delaware is smaller than NYC.

And actually GB is a little smaller than the state of Oregon as it is 94200sq mi. England itself is 50871sq mi. Pennsylvania is 46000sq mi. I know I was born there.

Enough of this England crap, i don't live in England but I live in the UK. England is only a part of the country.

Our political centre deviates to the left of your centre. For example, I'm a moderate liberal in my country, however in the US I am a radical liberal. There are MANY policies the American and British conservatives would not agree with. We have an OPENLY PRACTICING GAY conservative politican for christs sake LOL.

Our Healthcare system is ineffective at the minute (lines for treatments are long), but I doubt he will agree he would want to get rid of free healthcare.

Trust me the UK (which is mostly a conservative country) would vote for Democrats especially is someone like Bush is running.

Relative to what? Relative to Europe they are slightly conservative, relative to the US they are Liberal.

The UK is slightly more conservative than Europe, and more liberal than the US.
