Who are the United Arab Emirates and why do i keep hearing about them?

Exactly what the name sounds like...a collection of Arab emirates that are united into a single country. The two most prominent emirates are Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The nation is on the Persian Gulf, and borders on Saudi Arabia and Oman.

They have a severe workers rights problem, which is easily fixed when the government finally allows citzens to be more like citzens.
Whatever the case, they were basically one of the first countrys in the Persian gulf region to successfully employ capitalism. Lebanon is another. Jordan is improving also.
