[h=1]Kaiser Permanente strike: 4,000 mental health workers begin 5-day strike[/h]This is quite apparently a simple collective bargaining impasse regarding a new collective bargaining agreement, in which the union is unhappy that the employer won't meet its various compensation demands. The union claims it is all for the patients and their well-being/wait times. The union is lying.

The reason for the strike matters, or at least should matter. Under federal law, unions striking because of economic items (wage and benefit demands) are engaging in an economic strike, and in those cases employers can permanently replace striking workers. If unions are striking because of an alleged unfair labor practice, they cannot be permanently replaced.

This is why unions always pretend the strike is for some reason other than economic items like wage and benefit increases, even when it is clearly as a result of economic items.

"The union’s principal demands at the bargaining table have not been about improving care and access. Rather, in addition to seeking even higher wages and benefits, the union is demanding changes to performance standards that would reduce, not increase, the availability of mental health care for our patients," a statement from the organization said.

I fully believe the company and think the union is lying. We need to make unions follow the NLRA when it comes to strikes. Currently, we don't. We let them play pretend about why they're striking so that they aren't subject to the NLRA's rules. This needs to stop. If they want to strike when negotiations hit impasse, fine, let them, but call it what it is, which is an economic strike.

Sure, but there are so few Truth Tellers anymore.....and make no mistake, Truth Tellers are not generally respected or rewarded for our fidelity to truth.

I have concluded that we are so far gone that only the pain of America crashing will solve the problem.

Renovating the University and journalism will be required.

Kaiser Permanente's statemnet on the strike: https://share.kaiserpermanente.org/article/statement-on-strike-by-nuhw/

These people are economic strikers who are lying about their reason for striking, and they're hypocrites because they are intentionally disrupting their patients' access to care as a means to blame the employer for allegedly poor access to care.

Despicable.

People seeking mental health care from Kaiser Permanente should demand therapists who are not members of this union. No one should have to see a therapist who is willing to hold their care hostage for more wages and benefits.

...I have concluded that we are so far gone that only the pain of America crashing will solve the problem...

This 'conclusion' about the coming revolution has become an accepted reality for many conservatives. And the number of believers are multiplying as the cause becomes a mainstream topic in conservative circles.

The examples below come from your 'average' conservative. The vast majority of conservative gun owners posting on firearm forums have come to that 'conclusion'. Virtually all conservative survivalists know in their bones that they'll get their revolution. It doesn't matter when, they'll be ready.

"Are rightwing pundits right that America is on the brink of a civil war? A sense has been developing on the right that the old political adversaries are deadly enemies and that the US is headed for a profound, perhaps bloody crisis..."

"Alex Jones and Other Conservatives Call for Civil War Against Liberals...
...has been announcing that the United States is on the verge of a bloody second civil war..."

"Some Donald Trump Voters Warn of Revolution if Hillary Clinton Wins"

If they ever get to crash America, they'll soon find their 'problems' only increasing.

...Renovating the University and journalism will be required.

As conservatives continue failing to convince a majority of Americans to buy their schtick and start believing they have a right to use violence to give an authoritarian like Numnuts full control, I'm sure you'll get your way. Your Dear Leader will use an iron hand requiring a thorough purge of our universities and free press. From then on only happy news will be tolerated...

"Trump: People will ‘revolt’ if he’s impeached"

"President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that there would be chaos across the country if he were impeached."

It looks like you've jumped a major milestone in your hope that America crashes. I can feel the pain melting away as I type...

I find this post shallow and not interesting.

Do you have a better post in you?...

Would you like me to stop posting about conservatives salivating for their revolt or stop posting about Numnuts' lies and crimes in general?

...I am getting old.

Yes we're all getting old aren't we? But there's always time to repent your past support of an authoritarian...
