I have been a union member in good standing in my local since 1992. Despite all of the propaganda they send out in the mail, I've only met two people who actually voted dem. I do live in a pretty red county, but still.

I have two nephews who are members of the carpenter's union. Both are hard core conservatives. If the union bosses wanted they could simply corrupt republicans instead of democrats. It would certainly change the attitudes of republican politicians.
