If Bush allocated a $100 million to AIDS research and then a cure was discovered, and he tried to say in an interview that he personally "took the initiative in developing a cure for AIDS," liberals would be saying that he was inflating his role.
Yet liberals (some here, sadly) argue that when Gore used that exact same wording to describe his "involvement" in the creation of the Internet, he was not telling a lie or trying to "let people think" he invented it.
Ironic when they choose to split hairs over semantics. (Define, "is.")
Come on! We all know damn well he was trying to get more credit than he deserved, and he didn't even give anyone $100 million!
Gore's habitual lying during the 2000 campaign was second only to (and probably learned from) Slick Willy himself.
At least this lie wasn't as bad as his Vietnam fib-the one where he said he "fought" in Vietnam, but actually had a body guard the whole time and was kept away from any hint of battle because his racist father was a senator.
Or the one about his dad being a civil rights leader-you know, the dad who voted against the historic 1963 Civil Rights Act?
