Ukrainian counter offensives seem to be effective

I hope these reports are true.

This is just amazing.

Not only have the Russians been halted in Kyiv, they are now apparently digging-in in what appears to be an attempt to hold what they've gained, which would seem to indicate they no longer are attempting to progress.

While being surrounded and cut off from supply lines.

Welcome their surrender, bus them all to Poland and we and NATO can help set up "Refugee camps" for them. Since Russia is bussing Ukrainians deeper into Russia and all.

The bolded does not apply to the North.

These reports are true...read about them elsewhere.

What I find amazing is that in spite of superior Russian firepower, and Air Superiority, that Ukraine can actually go on the offensive and recapture these critical areas.

A couple of reasons come to mind:

1) Reports of low Russian morale and poor leadership are true.
2) The predicted depletion of Russian resources in men and material has also come true.
3) Ukrainians are brave and resolute, they were trained to fight like NATO troops over 8 years of teaching, they learned invaluable lessons in the Donbas.

They are a kick-ass people that learn quickly.

Now...when the 'frick will the west wakeup and send those planes?

Depends if the north end is within the east and west's artillery range. Ukraine has also been highly effective with drone strikes on supply lines.

I read a good report on how Russia is running out of supply trucks to carry anything due to horrific maintenance and parts. All while in the mud season in Ukraine bogging them down.

Its' just so comical that Ukraine pulled this off while it's the exact move Russia was trying to do on Kiev and Mariopul and all their cities. Surround and cut off supplies.

But the captured territory and supply lines are contiguous with Belorussia, so 'no' - they are not 'surrounded'.

There are reports that Belarussian railroad employees have engaged in sabotage, and Ukrainian forces in the east and south are blowing up rail lines.

This would severely hurt the Russian necessity to resupply their stranded convoy's in Ukraine.

Thanks.

Yes, I too have seen reports indicating the Belarusian citizenry and rank & file military have little desire to fight for Putin. That is a good thing.

That might not be good for Ukraine.

Have you seen the reports of the Belarussians sabotaging the railway lines?

No, not specifically.

But the Belarusian soldiers and civilians have been refusing to cooperate with the government and their CO's, and that is why the Belarussians have not substantively entered Ukraine to get involved, even while their government and military brass implore them to do so.

Meanwhile, from the russian/republican analysis of it all;

What the hell is wrong with that woman?
I'm thinking she exist to play counter whatever. She's the epitome of the GOP. No strong positions on anything of much. Just existing to counter whatever the libs are for. Never out in front of anything. Just waits for others to state their position and go the opposite way.

Torture the POW's by bringing in salesmen from Herbalife and Shaklee and Amway to practice their pitches.

Of COURSE she's all in for Putin.
How does Moscow Marjorie gain from this? I don't understand the angle here - is this truly just about being against anything that might even hint at agreement with the Biden administration, even if it means becoming a Putin propagandist?
