Ukraine offers peace talk w/Russia concerning Neutrality

At this point in time with so much destruction being done to Ukraine towns and cities, the killing and wounding of Ukrainians simply because the Russians have mainly targeted civilians, homes and infrastructure with their missiles and shelling for over a month, making decent sense to do so that hopefully allows Ukraine to catch their breath and help their citizens. imo

Ukraine's military fighters has done a good job punching back but without equal to Russia's mechanized military machines and air power, Putin's war on Ukraine is still so unfairly lopsided, in which the majority of land damage has been inside Ukraine because of that. I say any deal made w/Russia will give Ukraine time to set up better defensive and offensive positions in the next battle, in which I suspect will happen.

The news comes as the negotiations between the two countries are set to resume this week in Turkey.

"Security guarantees and neutrality, non-nuclear status of our state. We are ready to go for it. This is the most important point," Mr Zelensky said in the 90-minute video call.

Neutrality means a country does not ally itself militarily with others.

Neutrality is a good consolation offer by Zelensky. It would give assurance to Putin that NATO would not be permitted to establish military installations/bases within Ukraine's borders.

Putin would be wise to accept this generous offer of neutrality, and end hostilities.

Since Ukraine is already off limits to NATO, Zelensky needs some sort of a deal that resembles a cease fire. Not that Putin will keep his word, but if there would be a couple months of non-fighting, maybe Zelensky and his creative unmentionable friends will figure out how to set up stronger defensive positions to ready themselves for Putin's next assault - not to mention also giving aid to Ukrainians still in trouble as result of Russia's shelling. It's suspected that Donbas will belong to Russia when this peace talk is over with. May as well let Putin have it - it's torn to sh*t now. Of course, Putin will use this region to launch future attacks from but hopefully, Zelensky will be in a much better position to return fire with much better success. It's important that this happens because Putin wants much more than a small section of Ukraine. imo

Putin's objectives seem to be evolving. Initially, he wanted to shock and awe. The whole thing was supposed to be over in a few days.

Obviously, that was a gross miscalculation on Putin's part. Ukrainians stood a fought, and Russians have incurred tremendous losses, and some Russian troops were dropping their weapons and running into the woods.

So now Putin's new objective is "the liberation of Donbas". (Ukraine's eastern regions of Luhansk and Donetsk).

The thing is that Russian-backed separatists had previously captured a third of this region back in in 2014. Luhansk is floating the idea of a referendum to re-join Russia - - as the same was done in Crimea.

Hopefully, Putin will lower his sights again and accept Zelensky's offer of neutrality and assurance the Ukraine will not become a NATO member. It's a good deal for Putin, actually. He can still save face.
