Quote from article
(Navy Seaman Jonathan Hutto of Atlanta, stationed at Norfolk, Virginia and the first service member to join the campaign, said a similar appeal during the Vietnam War drew support from over 250,000 active duty service members in the early 1970s.)

My comment.
A fat lot of good it did them then, a fat lot of good it will do them now.

I'm sure some DP posters who have never served at all will criticize those who are serving. "But I'm supporting the war effort by working and paying taxes" Barbara Streisand, Sean Penn, and any other anti-war working person is also paying taxes. Give 10 percent of your annual income to a troopie(s) in need--make a better sacrfice and not your excuse ridden lame one. :2wave:

I did not criticize, I merely posted a thread that revealed that not all of our troops are gung ho, some of them actually have opinions of their own.

Like you, my taxes also go to help this war.
If you are afraid of seeing a viewpoint opposite to your own, may I suggest you do not post here.

NAVY SEAL PATRIOT, are you currently serving in Iraq, or are your words mere bluster?

I don't think troops in active duty should be calling for withdraw. That's not thier job.

We on the other hand can and should be calling for policy changes.

They have a lot of jobs, force proteciton is one of them. I don't think they should be be doing this quite so publically, but I think it is good to have active duty helping other active duty members know their rights to go to congress. I don't think they should have granted an interview to CNN or anyone else. I do think they should go to congress.

That is what I mean.
