VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. (AP) -- The Air Force successfully launched an unarmed intercontinental ballistic missile early Thursday.

The Minuteman III dummy warheads were fired at 3:14 a.m. and traveled about 4,200 miles before hitting a water target in the Marshall Islands.

11 tests
6 kills
4 misses due to failures in surrogate systems
1 miss due to ground control problem

Clearly, the NMD will never work.

And, of course, You KNOW that if there had been a NK missile strike on the US, the same people screaming that it could never work would be screaming "why wasn't this ready?!?!?!"

They already have to answer for the fact that we are 10 years behind in research from where we could have been had they all not fought tooth and nail to stop it. I recall debating on the internet 10 years ago and the leftest arguing that Korea would NEVER have a missle that could hit us or a nuclear warhead on it. They just KNEW it.

So thank the Clinton administration and the liberals for preventing a system which would have made all this moot.

You really have to take the blame back further.
Like to the end of the cold war. Thats when these projects lost much of their funding.

They never got the funding Reagan (who actually started the project) wanted and then the Clinton administration basically shut them down and limited what even what was allowed could do.

And we should continue to let the left advise us on matters of national security?
